As mentioned in the Giro thread a TdF Velogames is in the balance so thought we would repeat what we did last year and have a Dauphine Velogames. Again same rules pick 9 riders who you will think will do well in stages and finish high up on the GC.

Itís a week long race. Last year the result was

1st Eketahuna Eagles. JustaKiwi
2nd St Albans Cc GeoffV
3rd Lee Van Cleat Cardiffdaffs

To join just go to the link below. If you entered the Giro you donít have to rejoin a league as you will automatically feed through to the FMTTM league. If you did not and are new the League Code is: 415205519

Deadline for entry is 09:30 Sunday.

That's normally true, but it was the speed of the first stage that blew out most of the sprinters. Today was never going to see a sprinter win. Now tomorrow should be a sprint stage, but you never know in this race.

Yes, best wishes to Chris for a full recovery.

Not racing, but there's no point me starting a separate cycling thread on this board.

I was talking to a friend only a couple of days ago about being a member of the Rough Stuff Fellowship when I was a teenager. Then lo and behold we have a brilliant article in the Guardian today. This is how I got the bug for cycling long before the obsession with equipment and fitness that seems to be the norm today.

Great stuff. That article reminds me of a film I caught not long ago on Talking Pictures TV - a British 1950s film starring Honor Blackman called A Boy, a Girl and A Bike. Centred around a cycling club in West Yorkshire made by Gainsborough Pictures. Some great nostalgic shots of the Dales.

Hope that great news helps his recovery.

I remember that Vuelta. It was the donestiques Vuelta. Both Cobo and Froome went in as supporting riders for their team leaders. Wiggins for Sky and Menchov for TMC.

Cobo had never won a major race for 3 years (a stage of the TdF) so that win was very much a shock. Now we know why.

Well what a surprising day on the last stage of the Dauphine. First of all we had the abandonments of three contenders in Adam Yates, Kruijswijk and Michael Woods. Then the break making it and the GC not able to respond. Fuglsang hung on for victory and Allaphillipe getting into the break had a major effect on the result of our league!

And Dood takes it by 69 points and my unbeaten run comes to an end. Congratulations to you Dooderooni and Dr Doof takes the other podium place.

VELOGAMES - Criterium du Dauphine Open

Well that's the end of the Tour de Suisse with Egan Bernal winning for Team Ineos' first victory since the change in sponsor.

A very comprehensive win for Just A Kiwi and Eketahuna Eagles. Well done. Hairingtons and a jump up the table for Dooderooni to grab the final podium place.

Don't know when the next one will be - we still don't know if there will be a Velogames for the Tour de France.

A truly fantastic ride from Hugh today. The whole stage was live on l'Equipe TV which made for great viewing even dipping in and out. Absolutely beautiful scenery too.

Yes the first climb today - a brute. Itís the Nufenen Pass. I rode it about 4 years ago on a trip from Geneva to Milan in poor weather too.
