Dropping out the playoffs (?) - Your opinions

Do we think that with our run in off games we will realistically drop out of the playoff positions all together?

Our remaining games;

Villa (a)
Norwich (h)
Bristol C (h)
Swansea (a)
Bolton (a)
Hull (h)
Stoke (h)
Forest (a)
Reading (h)
Rotherham (a)

Quite a tough run in, personally I think we will not be in the playoffs come the end of the season.

Never know tho, it is the Boro!

I could see us losing the next 3 - at the moment I think 3 draws would be considered good results.

Anything can happen in the playoffs but our consistent lack of consistency leads me to believe we wouldn't string 3 decent performances together and actually win them anyway.

the problem is the same as we have seen for the last several seasons - not enough creativity or goals and until we address that, with better players, we wont be going anywhere

I think there's a decent chance we could lose our next 3 games. That's going to leave us in a position where we're going to have to more or less win the rest of our remaining games.

All depends on the next 3 games for me, after that there's only really Forest who I'd fear.

Make sure we don't lose to Villa, and beat Bristol City, and I reckon we've got a very strong chance of making the playoffs.

If we lose to Villa, we'll be hanging on for dear life.

This calendar year of results has been nothing short of disastrous-- not to mention the cup losses which for me at least brought on this dramatic loss of form. I'm not too sure what is going on in terms of player energy levels, but it's fair to say that we're at a very low ebb right now. The club, the fans are in the worst state since relegation under Southgate.

We've definitely got our work cut out to make the playoffs - and away to Villa next game doesn't flaming help!
Let's get those sleeves rolled up and give it our best shot.
Come on Boro!

"target mediocrity expect to fall short. We are not equipped for playoffs"

To be fair, apart from the top three, no one is covering themselves in glory. We've had some rubbish results, and yet we're still 5th. Pretty much everyone is misfiring. Villa won last night (back to back wins). The commentator said it was the first time they'd done that since September.

We can TOTALLY GET points from every game we have left. I'm sure we won't... but let's face it, no one is like Man City!

I also reckon we can win the play-offs, for sure. Whether we'll make them or not, who knows.... but we've got some extra points in the bag, and a game in hand!

We do have our work cut out, but the remaining fixtures give us a chance.
Beating Bristol City, Hull and Reading at home should be a realistic target.
Winning at Rotherham and Bolton is doable.
Points at Swansea and Forest and home to Stoke would take us to 77, which I think will sneak us 6th and a tie with Sheff U!

The thing that makes me doubt it, is pulis.

I would be happy with a point on saturday. Also it prevents Villa from gaining ground on us. Derby and Bristol City don't play this weekend either. It might look a bit better at tea time on Saturday.

Next 4 hard. I thought we could get 7 points this week and we've ended up with none out of 6 so far[sad]

It's been an awful pair of home games.

Terrible past couple of weeks, one point when I was expecting at least seven. With the cautious TP approach if we fall short we end up with nothing. Season reminds me of the last full season under Mowbray, when we would have gone down if the season had been a month longer!

I feel like when it comes to the crunch the other teams have the edge in us in terms of rising to the occasion and winning so called ‘must win games’, or even just winning a few home games here and there.

Didn't realise Billy Town were challenging for a playoff spot.

say we finish 7th, after 1.5 seasons of Pulis reviewing the club from top to bottom we will be in the same league, minus our best players from 2017/18, 1 full back, no wide players.

If we scuff it up again [and I hope we dont] it could be a blessing in disguise:

* We wont have the money to bring in players offering daft wages

* We will have to be astute and alert in the recruitment area - go out and find the talent not pull out the cheque book

* Any players hanging around awaiting a promo - payout will sod off to suck on someone elses wage bill

* We will still be stuck with the Rudy donkey

* Fans might be thought of as a little more than a cash cow to be milked and taken for granted - for the third season in the champo we might not all be so keen to pile up and watch us play Luton, Barnsley -----but then maybe Sunlun next season?

* Whatever will be will be.

They are still our Boro[^]

Don't think we will make the playoffs now.
The problem is that we simply don't score enough goals to win enough games. Therefore we don't get enough points. With our defence we don't need to be the leagues top scorers we just need to be moderately better at converting chances than we are. If we had been then we could be top of the league now. It's been our problem for several seasons though and so I don't see it suddenly changing in the last 10 games.
