First PDC ranking games this weekend.

Lost his first round game yesterday 6-5 but has just beaten Peter Wright 6-3 to make the 3rd round of today's floor event. [^][^]

And now in to the last 8 following a 6-4 win v Robert Thornton.

Was 1-4 down so did well to get through that one. [^][^]

Great effort. 170 to keep the game going to the death is some bottle.

Think the 7th leg was a key one. Ended up on double one and Chizzy hit two tops to check out 100.

Up to 88th in the world already. [^]

Fair play to glen.

We knew he was good but I think people are surprised how good he is.

Definately a top 16/8 player in the PDC I think. Good on him

Quality player but won't ever reach the top 16 in the PDC, those that doubt what I say then look at my predictions for most games. It's probably the only game i know what I'm talking about. Too many players with a similar average to him for him to make a massive impact. good luck to him though.

He's got that average though having holding down a fulltime job.

Hes recently packed that in and as hes said is able to practice fulltime which he couldn't do before.

Good luck to him.

Well if any of you would like a bet I'll happily take it on that he won't be inside the top 16 within the 2 years of his circuit card then give us a shout. I'm sure you know more about darts than I do. So it's going to be easy money for you. I'll bet anyone up to a couple of hundred quid.

It always amazes me that people look at the past and then say He / she / they will never do.... That is why people practise and improve. If you know darts Exiled you will know it is not just about averages. It is about technique and the right temperament. Being able to hit the doubles when you need them. The one thing about Glenn is he never wastes a dart unlike some of the other top players who are too fast at times. We shall see. By the way I will bet with bookies. I will get a better price!

Yeap you're correct samba, still better players than him have come across and struggled. I would love him to succeed but just realise he's probably about a top 32 player at best. You see the difference between a top 16 player when they play against the top players and the top BDO players is ridiculous. I guess you're not going to take my bet, as I don't think a bookie will give you odds I'm guessing you're all trousers.

BET365 will give you any bet if you request it. With Tony Pulis being a corner / freekick coach I even got 250/1 on Aden Flint being top scorer in the Championship at the start of the season! By the way I wouldnt trade money with anybody on here if you know what I mean! [smi]

That's a ballsy statement Exiled.

I watch a lot of darts and Duzza IMO is easily capable of getting in the top 16. Especially when you see some of the names up there. Ian White, Cullen, Jonny Clayton, Darren Webster, Whitlock are all average and Duzza could easily be in that group of players.

Duzza has already made huge progress in the PDC in the few weeks he's been part of it.

I don't expect him to win any majors or many trophies (if any)....but I certainly wouldn't be surprised if he was in the top 16 within 2 full years on the tour.

He regularly averages 95+ and when you get outside the top 7/8 that will beat most.

He also seems to have a gear where he can bang in 2/3 legs of 12/15 darts which he did today when he needed them.

Top 32 minimum and I dont think top 16 is out of his reach by any means.

Marv, what you're forgetting is all the players you've mentioned have already achieved their points. Duzza is starting from fresh. It takes a lot to get up there and I've already said I'll give him 2 years. I hope he does make it but just don't think he will.

Oh and by the way what progress has he made in the few short weeks that you say he has done considering this has been his first weekend competing?

'Oh and by the way what progress has he made in the few short weeks that you say he has done considering this has been his first weekend competing?'

First of all qualifying for a PDC card.

Then today he reached the final.

Also, those players in the top 16 still need to play top level darts to keep their ranking. They may have the ranking points, but they need to keep them. Not easy at all.

To say hes progressed already is a bit silly despite the good results, although its a promising indicator. He stands as good a chance as anyone who has crossed over in the last few years after winning the BDO worlds but he will need to improve. Im confident he will do it and I can see him being a Premier League player by the time the 2 year tour card expires. He has the big game mentality and hes consistent. Going full time should help him get to the required standard.

Actually exhiled after 2 years all the players are rated on their last 2 years prize money. Duzza will be ranked fairly after the world championships in 2 years time, as everyone at this point will be ranked on 2 years prize money

The problem is that he is going to be outside the seeds all year so could be draw dependent in the floor events.

He'll have his two years and get up to the required for his tour card, and I think it'll be year 3 when he gets in to the top 16.

If he has a decent start to the year though, hopefully does well in the UK Open and potentially qualifies for the World Matchplay/World Champs this year, we'll hopefully see him move through the rankings quickly.

His scoring is excellent, but his doubles especially under pressure have always been his weakness - if he starts nailing those then he is definitely capable of top 20 within a year I think. UTB

To get into the Top 16 you need to play well on the TV. There is no doubt Glen is an amazing player but we'll see his true potential when the majors come around.

I hope he does make the Top 16 but it is a long way off currently.
