Its really just another angry middle-aged bloke claiming everything was better when he was younger. Some clever lines in it, though.

The words Rod Liddle and good article, never go together. I bet most of the people who were heckling Soubry dont even know who McDonnell is, let alone heard his speech

That's subjective though and your opinion, which is what the article is all about really. Different opinions and respecting those you don't agree with.

He sounds very respectful of social science academics, doesn't he?

Lexit vlogger Gordon Dimmack made a good video about this incident.

those on the right seem to be able to twist everything into blaming Labour. a Tory MP gets abused by a right wing brexiters and it's the shadow chancellors fault.
dead cats have never had it so good

He's not blaming Labour, jam. He's blaming the conduct of John McDonnell and the behaviour he encourages towards Tories as a reason why members of the public are hostile towards politicians. If you actually read the article you would understand this.

as above I doubt those abusing her are doing it on the back of his comments, as a brexiter himself he would rather shovel the blame elsewhere .

I like some of the stuff in the article - just think focussing on the deputy leader of Labour shows his bias. Given who his paymaster is, I suppose he has to do it. Shame though

Rod Liddle is a member of the Labour Party, you chump.

i understand his point, iam just not in denial about the purpose of the article, still as you say ignorance is bliss.
the irony of someone on the far right calling her a Nazi seems lost on him.
on the broader issue its quite a worrying state of affairs. someone turning up at JRM home even more so.

TBF, regardless of what previous party affiliations he's had (he's suspended from Labour), Liddle is clearly Right wing.

I mean, amongst other reasons, his regular use of the term 'Lefty' puts paid to that debate.

I get your point, people change their mind , you only have to see him on tv and read his articles to know where he's drifting to.

Really, no. He just has no time for the faux left.

Hmm, ok, I'll accept that the term 'Right wing' is subjective and you might not agree with my view on that front. Many of his views come across as Right wing to me. The fact he writes them mostly in the Spectator and the Sun will help me clarify my view.

He's obviously disenfranchised with the modern Labour party and what they now represent hence why he's aimed the article at McDonnell.

Personally can't blame him to be honest, they are rotten now.

"you think McDonald is 'faux left' ?"

No, I was referring to people to whom Liddle seems right wing. (See also Frank Field, Kate Hoey, etc.)

I can see that, but I don't think he writes on economic issues for those publications.

Yeah this is another Liddle puff piece using a thin veneer of pretending to side with Sourbry on the Nazi debate, to try and stop people calling him one when he makes overtly xenophobic statements.

Not only that he is using it to make the most tenuous of links by trying to blame labour for It all.

Poor Rod. Hes not half as clever as he thinks he is.

Rod sounds more UKIP nowadays, certainly not left wing.

These protestors were described as far Right by AS. I find it strange they were calling AS a Nazi when in fact they sounded more fascist.

There is photo that often gets used on the internet to portray someone who is triggered.

It shows a woman(if she has decided on which sex she is yet) with shortish hair, glasses and wild eyes, her mouth looks like it is about to explode in righteous outrage.

It always springs to mind at moments like this.

What would sounding left wing be like? He sometimes sounds unpleasant to me, but the two aren't mutually exclusive.

I'm sure Rod writes these pieces in that brief moment between dozing and sleeping. It's easy money for him and having met him I don't think he believes half the stuff he writes. Bark worse than his bite comes to mind.

You seriously think that the neofascist crew baiting and screaming at Suobry saw John McDonnell's speech and said, "What a good idea, let's do that"?

Pull the other one.

To be honest like a lot of this shock jock journalists (see Katie Hopkins) im not even sure even believe what he writes. Like his horrible article defending the Stephen Lauwrence murderers, he caters for a certain racist demographic whom this kind of nonsense appeals. He knows the gap in the market and hes exploiting these numbskulls for click bait.

If you're referring to the article I think you're referring to, it doesn't surprise me for one minute that you read it as defending the murderers. (It isn't doing anything of the sort.)
