Wolves donít really expect to win the league this season but surely the best way to develop him woukd be to keep him even if itís sub appearances. Both wolves and traore could develop together thatís assuming traore evolves quick enough.

Thought this was fairly likely all season, but less so since he's had a few more starts and game time over the last few weeks.

If he's happy on the bench I can't imagine a better option to bring on and play on the counter for them.

Wolves obviously want to go to the next level and have the money, sounds like they're bringing in Tammy Abraham and Raul Jimenez has been good for them.

I'd say if they bring in another big money forward as well as Abraham in Jan, this might well happen.

They could very much have the situation we were in:

Stage 1: Sign promising but raw player for a lot of money
Stage 2: Put player on bench/ don't give him much of a chance
Stage 3: Either decide to play him or cash in
Stage 4: He plays better or he goes elsewhere

It's similar to when we had him. He won't play for them unless he improves, but they won't give him enough game time so he can improve, it's like a catch 22.

TP had a decent punt on him, giving him a good run of games, that's why he got miles better. We had two other managers in the time we had Traore and neither played him as much, hence why he wasn't as good/ didn't develop as much.

Wolves might just buy a ready built very expensive option to replace one of the others getting a game ahead of Traore (like Costa, Gibbs-White, Jota, Cavaleiro). Then they just drop to the bench and Traore goes elsewhere. This is a lot more likely now that Wolves know they're going to be safe this season and likely the next couple of seasons also. i.e it would have been a costly risk pre-season, but it's not now.

Traore leaving Wolves looks like a practical certainty to me, he's just not going to get a long enough run of games to stamp his authority and own a position. Although he would likely get a game for a lot of sides in the bottom half, so no reason for him to come back here. I would love to have him back, but I think it's a pipe dream unless we get back into the Prem.

I cannot see a club loaning back a 20mil signing to his former clubs that's a league lower.

He would get games but don't see how it would improve his development. If anything I would expect a loan abroad.

One things for sure he's not been the signing they wanted. I guess it's turned out pretty much as most of us expected... The usual moans from wolves fans of 'no end product' etc.

I said at the time that 20mil was a great bit of buisness. Some on here thought he was worth twice that and should be singing for a city or Chelsea.

Morning

Ok, long story but I was watching Esbjerg in December who were playing a young and upcoming team at home. I was invited by a Vendor to the match as I work and now live in esbjerg, The chairman stated there was many scouts at the match and indeed I sat in front of the Wolves scout who is based in Stavamger. We talked throughout the match and we started to talk about Traore. He believed that wolves will not loan him to another club due to the amount paid and will if anything keep him on the bench etc.

If somehow we were to go up, I think we could get him back next year for 10-12mill, but I agree it might be difficult for Wolves to loan him out after just 2 league starts.

He must be wondering what the hell he has done though. I said at the time this will stall his career again, and it's proven to be true.

We're all talking like the lad is write-off at wolves with no career prospects, yet their fans like him and they're sat in 8th in the premier league, why would he come back to a championship club thats struggling to field attacking minded players? surely he'd rather develop in the premier, around better players than downing and tavernier?

Even if he was allowed to go out on loan, why on God's earth would he want to come and play with us, under Pulis, the most negative team/manager in the Championship.

Surely he'd try and get a move to Leeds or Norwich, teams that attack and play right into his strengths, who have goalscorers that can finish all his good work etc.

The only way I can see this happening is if his transfer has part of the fee connected to appearances this season, in which case a loan could be attractive to both clubs.

Like the other post said the loan fee would be pretty big given his transfer fee - loan fees are generally the full fee divided by the proportion of the contract the loan represents.

I like flipside. He doesn't seem the brightest of lads but I hope correcting him and generally helping along the way then I've sort of become a mentor for him on here. I know he appreciates it deep down.

I like you too Exiled, now I've got to know a lot more about you. I also laugh at your unintentional errors when posting on this board.
You do make me laugh. Maybe you'll take me up on that offer of a Happy Meal sometime. And yes, you can have the toy.

1finny, "For me a troll is someone who asks a question in an OP then takes issue with everyone who seeks to answer - because he/she doesntí agree with the answer."
To be fair 1finny I think responses such as "I hate Liverpool because I saw one of their fans push someone into a fountain" does need challenging. Don't you think.

See mentorship, I'm glad you see it that way. As long as I can have the toy then it's a deal. Oh and by the way there's a ton for you [:D]

Well you did 1finny.

In answer to my OP about why the hatred of Liverpool and their fans your first response was
"Couple of recent examples:
Smashing up the City bus last season before the game at Anfield
Throwing locals into the fountains in Barca"

And you are suggesting I'm dim [cr]

Thanks you kindly for quoting me.
It will help you and others see - I did not say ĎI hate Liverpool fans because I saw .....

I will leave you to troll others now

Come on lads , let's not fall out over nothing
I'm the one who should be upset.
I opened this post and read over 100 comments only to find Traore is still not back at Boro [:(!]

I know, that's the mentality of someone who hoofs a thread from months ago. Don't understand it myself.

Getting back to the OP, as Traore did not come back, how do you explain this, flipside?

It's difficult to explain foggy.
He wanted it, Boro wanted it and so did Pulis. From what I gather Wolves were keen too, but only once they got a replacement. That's where it went wrong. For whatever reason the replacement they wanted either wasn't keen, or the clubs could not agree terms.
A shame really as it was almost in our grasp.

Like many on here though I'm not the first to post about transfers and it not materialise.

I certainly made an impression though because some posters remind me of it on an almost daily basis! Even Rob got a bit upset [:D]

All a bit mad really.

I got upset because I challenged early on as I felt quite certain there was no chance of Traore returning on loan. I thought this was giving people hope where it was totally groundless and starting a rumour that really took hold.
I still say as I did at the start that this was never going to happen.
