Would love someone with his ability to join our club on his day he was sensational. I remember that solo run from the half way line finished with a wonder goal v Bournemouth.

As far as I'm concerned he should be unwritten from our history the blokes a rat and deserves no credit for anything

Would love someone with his ability , but not someone with his attitude or heart. Total fanny

Utter waste of a talent.

If he had the attitude and application to go along with his ability he'd be playing for a top 4 side.

He's an idiot.

Most talented player have had in many years but just unfortunately severely lacked in other areas of his game

A phenomenally gifted player. He was never going to keep us up single handedly though.

We should've sold him in that January to Leicester really. I'd actually have been interested to see how he would've got on.

Never seen someone go so swiftly from hero to zero.

Brilliant in the Championship, that Bournemouth goal was quality.
Then it all went down hill.

Still not sure if the rumour that he was trying to hook up with local lasses whilst his partner was pregnant is true or not.

Leicester trying to poach him was one of the few things that made me not feel bad for Ranieri getting sacked.

I don't think he should have actually been sent off in his last league game for us, mind.

Just had to witness his "performance" at Bournemouth to see what an @rsehole he really was.

So people are still chirping on about his wrongful sending off against Bournemouth 👀

He was still our best and most likely player most games but a lot of people couldn’t accept he wanted to leave their beloved club so refused to see it.

Very true he had a poor attitude but look at Pogba, Suarez at Liverpool, Tevez, they also have caused problems but are still quality. It never worked out but it would be nice to see someone with his skills & creativity etc back at the club.

Legend in my book,so what he wanted to join Leicester? So up there and no different with rav leaving ,Juninho leaving etc etc etc if we still had him we'd be an attacking force and def more goals for,a missing link for our static midfield at present.[^]

He was wrongly sent off at Bournemouth.

He was wound up, yes, but that was more to do with comical defending that led to his team being 2-0 down within the first few minutes.

It's odd that some posters, who by he evidence of their posts, have hearts the size of peas, go bellyaching on about certain players.

In terms of talent and ability we don't have anyone anywhere near in this squad.

He was the same at Southampton. We should have sold him to Leicester as he cost us nothing. We may actually have made a profit on a player[;)]

That said the money would have gone into the Bamford / Rudy deals[V]

He was brilliant in our promotion season, and although inconsistent, he was still one of the few players capable of producing a moment of magic in the Premier League.

In hindsight though we should have just accepted Leicester's offer in January.

I was at *that* Bournemouth away game, and 1) he shouldn't have been sent off 2) he was our best player, and one of the few who looked like he gave a damn up until that point.

The most notable contributor to doing fk all that day was Barragan.

I was at the game too. He was as dreadful as anyone else. Spat his dummy out and deliberately got sent off. He’s got a disgraceful attitude. There’s not 1 club he’s had sustained success. Given his ability what does that tell u?

@festa
He may not be top 4, but he is top 10 in Serie A.

His only problem was a XXXXXX manager in Agnew making him the fall guy. If Gibson brought in a proper manager, like Hiddink, the foreigns lads would've respected him and got on with keeping us up. Agnew managed to chase Gaston and VV out of the club within a matter of days.

He didn't deliberately get sent off at all. He was wrongly sent off, and he was chasing down a defender / actually closing down, which is what the fans were willing the players to do.

I know it doesn't fit the narrative that was shaped afterwards, but he did not get himself sent off on purpose. The people who shaped this narrative were the ones who had already decided he was worse than satan because of the January debacle.

I'm not defending his character, it was a completely chuntish thing to do, given his career was going down the pan before we gave him a chance, and he had an outstanding year, including some games in the Premier League before it all went wrong. The very least he owed us was to play out the season, and you know what, if the reigning champions come in with a big money big at that point, cheers and thank you, no hard feelings.

I may be wrong but hadn't we just gone 2-0 down when he was sent off? He may have been putting the effort in before that, but to go diving into a challenge minutes after receiving a yellow card was ridiculous - especially when it was still so early on in the game.

Don't know how anyone can call themselves a Boro fan and still back Ramirez.

He disgraced himself and should only be uttered in the same breath of the likes of Ziege and Merson.
