After many, many years trying to locate my all time favourite Boro player, John Hicktons last ever Boro game match ticket, I'm finally in possession of one [^]

Boro at home to WHU, we lost 2-1 with Craig Johnston opening the scoring, WH spoilt the party with 2 second half goals, big John replaced Ian Bailey with 12 minutes remaining

Me & my brother in the holgate that night

Boro team

Dave Brown, the 3rd keeper used that season & his final home appearence, John Craggs, Ian Bailey, Craig Johnston, Stuey Boam, Alan Ramage, David Mills, Stan Cummins, Billy Ashcroft, Tony McAndrew, Davey Armstrong, sub, big John Hickton

Attendance; 13,247

Nice one (two) Erimus [^]

Is that attendance right? Just over 13,000 for a top flight match ... would make our current 21,000 - 23,000 look very healthy!

Crowd fiddling was commonplace back then but we did have big crowd fluctuations too.

I just wish i had the common sense erimus74 had to keep his Boro memorobilia. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but deary me when i see erimus74’s great collection i remain as jealous as hell. Erimus74 is a star and a leading light for me [^]

crowds certainly used to fluctuate then remember playing Bolton one Friday night around Christmas and only 11000 turned up I'm sure john craggs scored .we could have 30000 one week and 15000 the next .

I was there.... with new girlfriend. Stood with the West Ham fans - thinking they wouldn't bring any so expecting the corner to be empty more or less. If memory serves a couple of hundred made the trip.

Hard as nails, that's me. [rle]
