the manager of MFC had to be a regular poster from this board, who would you go for?

You can't nominate yourself or any of your other usernames.[:D]

Easy with Forshaw as his player coach assistant.

There's a few with decent footballing knowledge but their traits for being stubborn would be a hindrance. So for that reason I'll go for the dream team of Indeedio and erimus74. They'll give you a bit of the old school football and the ability to see that there's two ends of a football pitch.

Holgate corner speaks sense, I only listen to lads who have played and managed for real debate. Nothing a matter with opinion mind.

Coluka without a doubt.
I'd feel confident he would get, not talk about getting, the pace and creativity we have lacked for years and actually go forward.
I reckon he would also treat all people right, get them pulling the same way and take no sh!t from those who didn't.
(So not like Pulis at all)
Honourable mention to Viv, as there would be no "faffing" around under him.

Loads of good sorts on here worthy of mentions (Adi, Linardi, Willmunny, Prioryman, parmoboy, Bear, exiled, atypical, easy, skiprat, jrdp, erimuses, etc etc etc), but Coluka gets the nod after an extensive search, of course.
Five year contract; the brief - promotion, stay up, build, cup.
Lavish personal terms - free choice of qualified coaching staff and recruitment team - £10m plus whatever he can generate from the current squad in January.
Over to you Col.

Can’t remembet the name of the guy I’d choose. We had a good chat about tactics once though.

So on that basis I’d go Coluka.

If it was Adi, imagine the headline..

Boro break transfer record with £50m signing of the injured Patrick Bamford.

Although he divides opinion, I believe Adi talks a lot of sense and I agree with his footballing philosophy, so he'd get the nod from me.

I'd be the first with the Adi out banner. 😜

Could you imagine his press conferences though, especially when he gets his Jack and Jill book of tactics out for those that question him 🤣

Adi Dem and Ryan Shotton in training ground bust up as Shotton claims he is fit, Adi insists he won’t be ready until next season.

(Just a joke mate, no offence intended).

Indeedido [:D] [:D]

A big thank you to Heam44 too (although I might be looking over my shoulder if you remembered the other poster referred too [:D] [^]

In such exhalted company that you mention it would be an honour. However, When you say lavish personal terms, you mean a subsidised bacon banjo at breakfast and lunch in the Rockcliffe canteen and a bottle of Plum Porter after each match, but only if a victory was achieved I assume [:D]

There are plenty of knowledgeable posters on here all with good insight and understanding of the game who would all bring something to the table. My response to this question was given on another thread before atypical grasped the nettle and ran with the thread. (Clearly showing willing to take ideas on board is atypical) possible assistant manager [;)]

Whoever is in post though must make pace and creativity the key. I would encourage any incumbent manager to use Indeedido’s £10M suggestion and add to it by try selling Gestede for £3M and Britt for £8M, Braithwaite for £6.5M, release Leadboots on a free and look to sign 2 experienced wingers, perhaps one of them initially on loan. Additionally someone who can play anywhere across attacking midfield and also bring in a strong pacy striker.

Existing recruitment team would need to be ‘overhauled’ [;)] and places taken by board reps (newyddion need not apply). [:P]

It would be no good appointing someone who is reluctant to disagree with his/her friends, so we need to avoid mutual backslappers.

Has anyone on here ever actually applied for the Boro job?

I used to work with a bloke who has applied for the Chelsea job every time there has been a vacancy since the 1970s. He always gets a polite reply thanking him for his application and saying that they've considered it carefully but don't feel he has the experience they are currently looking for and that they'll keep his application on file in case the job becomes available again.

Parmoboy can only have the job if he agrees to change his name in honour of Muzzy Carayol as was alluded to on another thread.

"Middlesbrough boss Mustapha Parmo" sounds perfect to me.
