Body Odour & Deodourant

I have pretty bad underarm stink though I shower every day and have in the past used a 48 hour protection deodorant to keep it at bay. Recently though I've had a rash with the brand I was using and I stopped using it which cured it, but it returned when I recommenced its use.

Trying different brands didn't improve things much so I was looking for a more natural offering which might help if it is the chemical blockers causing the irritation.

I've seen some like "The Best Deodorant on Earth! by RazoRock" which seems highly rated, as is "Primal Pit Paste Natural Deodorant" - has anyone used any of these and knows of UK stockists as it seems most are USA based?

Cheers

Try shaving mate. I had the same problem a few years ago. No matter how clean I kept myself my pits would stink by the end of the working day. Lad from Coundon that I used to work with recommended the shaving idea and I haven't had the problem since.

A guy I used to work with for years had a disease that made him smell really bad from the arm pits, I didn't realize till years later that was the reason he used to douse himself in deodorant. I think it's a gland thing to do with the liver and alcohol.

Well I've no indications of issues and only drink maybe a couple of bottles of wine per week unless it's Christmas or holidays etc.

I knew a guy once who had such bad smelling feet he could only keep a pair of trainers for 6 months (even with odour eaters) it turned out he had some form of disease that affected his nails etc and it reacted with his skin when sweaty (like feet)

Do you use Deodourant or Antipersperant?
Iask because antipersperant brings me out in a rash & as i got older spray deodourants wheren't their job so switched to roll on deodourants this works for me.[^]

armpit rock is based on natural mineral salts with aloe vera and grapefruit seed extract.
it's suitable for sensitive skin and supposedly dermatologically tested.
it's free from aluminium chlorohydrate and/or aluminium zirconium. also free from parabens, SLS/SLES, propylene glycol and silicone.

key advice would be to apply approximately 13 minutes after showering at 37'c.

Use bloc alum, It is meant to be used as an astringent after shaving but it also can be used as a deodorant. It carries no perfume but neutralises the chemicals in your sweat which make your armpits smell and it causes no soreness.

Just wet it and rub it on your armpits or rub it on damp armpits after washing or showering. I no longer use deodorant.

When u get past 45 I’d say it’s best to shave underarms — the hair follicles get contaminated so the only way to clean out the stench is to shave — same with most body hair.

Good lady wife was in town today and visited Boots for PitRok - she wasn't sure (and i was unavailable) so I've ended up with a stick and a spray.

Not complaining though - had a shower when I got in around 18:00 and applied afterwards it seems to have killed any stink but I will shave tomorrow and do the same - hopefully that'll resolve it.

If not, or the rash returns then I'll try the bloc alum.

My thanks to all!

Pit shaving works because it means there's far less places for the bacteria that cause the odour to linger.

Yeah cheers - they do have a Mint/Tea deodorant stick for £14.

I'm very happy with the shaved under arms and Pitrock at the moment - it has nullified any issues for me.

Cheers to all for advice - it has helped.

I found that regular anti antiperspirants stopped working for me last year for some unknown reason.
Tried all sorts until I found Sure Max Protection. Its more of a cream in a push up dispenser and I only need a tiny amount - which is just as well as its around £4 a throw.

Get yourself some Anhydrol Forte from Boots. Put it on before bed. It can sting a bit like but does the job. I only use it a couple of times a year.

Dri Clor- menopausal women use it but it works perfectly for me. Completely odourless and one application lasts for weeks.
