ShŪt just keeps getting better and better. Whyte is game as a badger.

Whyte v Ortiz

Canít knock him can you? If he ends up beating Joshua some day you certainly canít say that he took the easy route.

Parker and Ortiz back to back is pretty incredible.

I THINK Iím picking Ortiz in this one but I can guarantee itís going to be one where I change my mind 500 times. The main issue Iíll have is Ortizís age, if it was 5 years ago Iíd feel fairly comfortable in picking him but Iím not sure now.

Mate id be over the moon if whyte beat Joshua. He's by far my favourite heavyweight. I'm saying he stops Ortiz. He'll sit on his chest and rip the old man to the body and stop him late. Go on Dillian son.

Tell you what it does show as well. Hearn wants that wbc in his stable. The winner of Wilder Fury will be mandated to fight Joshua or face the winner of whyte Ortiz. Brilliant.

Heís definitely one of my favourites too, I think Fury is the only one I prefer over him.

Heís got a bit of the Carl Frochís about him in that he isnít great technically but heís got that dog in him that pulls him through.

Yeah mate he's all heart. He's nailed a few little techniques like his counter left hook which is a beauty, but Parker did make him look unbalanced and sloppy at times. Ortiz is slick bit Whyte is so XXXXXXing durable it's insane. Haha I can't wait for It. Feel for Warrington and Frampton though.

Whyte to win this one, and I think Whyte is favourite

Ortiz is clocking 40 and will likely gas badly 2nd half the fight

Chappy, have you noticed Peter Fury does not talk about Tyson in interviews? Like he's told them not to mention him beforehand. Must be some bad feeling there.

is it confirmed?

Fair play to Whyte if so. He's pretty much nailed on for a fight with Joshua at Wembley in April because it doesn't seem it'll be Joshua v Wilder (or Fury).

Many wouldn't take the risk, they would've taken a routine fight and waited for April.

Tough fight i think, but a good one. i'd pick Ortiz of a few years ago to stop Whyte, but at his age and having been knocked out by Wilder, he is only going down hill and history usually tells us that when a fighter that age gets stopped, they usually will again. still a tough fight for Dillian though, Ortiz still has skills and can bang.

Should be a good fight. It will be another good payday for Whyte so he might as well take it, especially against an aging Ortiz. The coming months could be a very profitable period for Whyte.

I can't see how Wilder v Joshua can happen in the short term. It's on record that Barry Hearn is in charge of negotiations for the potential fight - a fight that Barry Hearn doesn't think should happen yet. Furthermore, Eddie Hearn is still talking about a previous offer that was 'agreed' to by Wilder and his team. Any contract has to be agreed to and signed, so if this is Eddie's position - there's no chance of negotiations advancing.

Wilder's style is heavily based on athleticism and explosiveness. The Hearns know that Wilder will be a much less dangerous proposition in 2-3 years. This is clearly dominating their thinking at the moment.

Whyte v Ortiz

Whoever the end champion is after December will have 3 options. Breazeale, Joshua or the winner of Whyte Ortiz. The WBC want the winner to fight Joshua in April. I heard Suleiman or whatever's he's called say it.

It's good fight.[^]

Breazeale is the WBC mandatory.[^][V]

Wilder has promised to fight Whyte if he beats Ortiz.[^]

WBC has said they are happy to support a unification clash with Joshua.[^]

Wow, excited to see this if it is made.
Must be the last chance of a run on a title for Ortiz. If he loses where does he go from here.
Fair play to Whyte taking such a dangerous fight. This is how you want heavy weights to act.

Going of what windy just said:
Wilder's hold on the WBC belt in comparison looks ever more farcical.
You have Whyte ranked number 1.
WBC announce Breazeale (#2) as mandatory.
So you have Breazeale training for a fight against Wilder, but when is that going to made?!
WBC rank Fury #7, and so in the interim Wilder jumps on the opportunity to get an out-of-shape Fury in the ring. Not only that, but people are talking about rematch clauses.

Whilst this is going on Breazeale is probably going to be inactive waiting for his shot.
Which might get pushed back further still until after a possible unification with Joshua.

Imagine getting called the mandatory and then having to wait 1-2 years for your shot.

When is the WBC going to say enough is enough and you fight the person ranked #1?

It's not the wbc that are the problem in boxing. Check the laughable wba heavyweight rankings.

Point taken[xx(]

WBC ranking on paper looks great now as the better fighters are positioning to try and get a title shot.

3. Fury
4. Breazeale

But Breazeale is mandatory, now ranked 4th, and has Fury in his last fight justified moving from 7th to 3rd?

How many current top 15 fighters has Wilder fought across WBC/IBF/WBA/WBO rankings?
Is it only Ortiz?

In comparison Joshua has fought 6 of the WBCs top 15.

WBC is definitely part of the problem

The WBC are a bit of a joke

Adonis Stevenson fought one mandatory in something like 3 or 4 years. But it seems like the WBC are in Al Haymon's pocket these days.

Many years ago James Toney referred to the wbc as 'We Be Crooks... The mandatory situation is a complete joke. I'd much rather see the Ortiz fight than Chisora 2.

The net is definitely tightening for Wilder, If he wants that 50-0 and is going to have to earn it over the next couple of years.

As for Ortiz and Wilder its a cracking fight and bigger than the Chizora fight IMO, though it seems Eddie wants to deliver the payday for chizora and Whyte is his only big money fight.

Stick Miller vs Chizora (not sure Miller would fancy it TBH) and Whyte vs Ortiz on the same card. UK PPV.

If Whyte Beats Ortiz in style it makes Wilders win look ordinary and sets Whyte up as 'more qualified' to face AJ in April.

People seem to be forgeting a lot of the time the fighters have been offered the chance to fight for the mandatory spots but the fighters turn the fights down.

The WBC has been ordering some great fights of late.

In fact the WBC have ordered Whyte vs Ortiz.
