Its poor for the first sat game of the new season.

But it was predictable attendances would fall off 3-5k on last season. Same will keep happening year on year as long as we are in this division.

If i didnt have have a ST then i an my family would be priced out of coming to the games, it would average £55- £60 per game instead of £22 per game as a ST holder.

The divide is too big to encourage walk ups unless were top of the league or at xmas.

JUst my opinion

'Poor' is probably the wrong word.

Lower than last season, and disappointing.

Poor was a poor choice in word.

Disappointing (as already mentioned) is definitely better. As for historic attendances; what difference do they make? Why build a 35k stadium if you wanted historic attendances.

21k is not as bad as the dog days under Strachan but XXXXXX hell it's hardly good either.

As someone above mentioned - Walk up prices. They must be starting to realise that the take up of match by match tickets is being affected by not only the high cost of them but the high discrepancy between these and the broken down match cost of a season ticket. Not everyone can afford a season ticket or get the credit to get one on monthly payments. Some have other commitments that make a Season ticket impractical. Walk up prices around 50% higher is just driving the casual fan who may be otherwise able to afford a certain number of games away, especially if they want to bring family.

I am a committed card carrying, lifelong Boro fan but the clubs match day pricing policy is just plain wrong on so many levels. Pulis and his players deserve better support. Credit it to the hard core they will give it their all tomorrow UTB

The clubs attitude or dare I say Gibson is youíre either a season ticket holder or you can fcuk off - there are clubs in the premier league that charge less than us for walk up prices and they play four less league games, and Middlesbrough is one if the poorest places in the country. I just donít get why the club thinks itís a good idea when so many other clubs donít. Is it another case of Gibson knows better than anyone else

21-22k will be our average this season. I've always made my feelings known with regards to our match day pricing policy. Yes, it encourages loyalty for those who commit to the early bird price, but it in no way encourages new buyers.

Personally, I think the early bird renewal price should be £360, and then £397 for new early bird buyers. This way, they could charge £460 when they go back on sale. Those who committed to the early bird price will still feel they've got a great reduction, and they could then charge £25 walk-ups, as £460 would work out £20 per game.

It could be 23k by kick off - what did we get last year against Birmingham?

RW - We got 22848 - OK mid week game last year took 1k off.

So we are around 5% to 8% down on last year. Not good, but not the end of the world.

I got pelters on here Tuesday night for saying 22k was a decent average for a club of our size. I would be there tomorrow if i wasnt flying in the morning. Itís distance not money being the issue for me but 60 notes for me and the daughter to go Tuesday night is a stark reminder what a dear do it is.

I'm fully aware of the club's history. It doesn't surprise me that some can't carry their commitment to the club as far as actually attending.

Itíd be great if the club were proactive in trying to fill some of the 10,000 empty seats but they seem to set their stall.

given that gate receipts these days seem to be small change in the scheme of things financially, I think there is a lot more the club could do to fill the empty seats, they are a community club, why not try to invite some of the socially and financially disadvantaged to the games, maybe do more with the local schools, I seem to remember once over they had a section for a group from a school, maybe bring back the matchday deals, let Season Card holders buy extra seats at a discounted rate, there are lots that can be done, just all seems a bit lazy by the club.......
