Marcus Tavernier is our best attacking threat

Heís got to feature heavily this half of the season before the transfer window reopens and we can rectify this poor transfer window. The lads positioning is great not only is he an attacking threat on his flank but he times runs into the box and gets himself into striker position when the play is coming from the other wing abit like stuani did. Canít speak more highly of the lad I think heís the best young talent we have at the club including Dael Fry

Wait till you see Harry Chapman Normanby,he's potentially the best youngster I've seen at the Boro in 40 years,he's got pace to burn, tricky, direct, good passing ability and scores goals,im convinced given his opportunity he will save us a fortune in the transfer market.

A potential silver lining to the lack of meaningful transfer activity post Bamford/Gibson/Traore is the possibility of Tavernier, Chapman and Wing getting some game time and the opportunity to develop in the first team.

I'd still expect/hope that we bring in a few loans but hopefully these lads will be given a chance.

Never thought Iíd see this post a few weeks ago. Says it all really in regards to the recruitment of our team, no offence to Tav btw as he looks a smashing young talent and we should all be looking forward seeing more of him over the years. But I really didnít expect to see this as a thread title a few weeks ago. [|)]

He's brilliant and may well be our best attacking threat very soon but we still have a £15 million pound striker, an attacking player who has just played in the WC in Braithwaite, a striker who scored 20 goals in 39 games and averages a goal every 169 minutes in the championship, an Irish international and ex England player who once cost £12 million.

We are hardly Barnsley, are we? lets have some perspective

This isn't an attack on the OP by the way, I agree with you as a whole, just the title makes us sound like we are in dire straits without the context.

One of the positives with Monk was giving him his chance unfortunately under Monk when you had a bad game not only were you dropped you didnít even get on the bench the lad had one game where he missed 2 chances against Leeds I believe and he wasnít seen again that season under Monk or Pulis heís done more for the Boro in his only 6 appearances than Downing had done all season. He was also one of the main reasons we got something out of the game against Millwall playing less than half a game and getting man of the match

Tav helped to bring the game to life last saturday when he came on. He deserves more time on the pitch for sure
