Does any anyone think Pulis will walk?

He is the firefighter and go to man if a premier league clubs struggles.

Iíd say Southampton lost the first 5 games I can see him going to the saints.

The question is who would replace him?

Not at all, Pulis is very shrewd, he knows exactly what he is doing and trying to achieve through his comments. He wont walk just now

"He got sacked by West Brom, no prem clubs are coming in for him anytime soon."

Mark Hughes was sacked by Stoke and walked into the Southampton job.

Zero relegations in ten seasons gives Pulis a huge cache. West Brom turning into a basketcase at boardroom level does not change that.

I don't think so given his apparent connection with Steve Gibson. In fact from the start it appeared that he knew that there would be limited money, given his comments about spending Gibson's money. Maybe not *this* limited however!

No. Managers rarely walk as it isn't in their financial interest.

There is no chance he will walk.
He is doing what he has been encouraged to do.
He will be on a major wedge, with all sorts of upside bonuses (maybe not all based on league position...)
Besides - his stock had collapsed at WBA and it has hardly been rebuilt here.
He will be here for the season and very selective in his messages. Wily old ...

If he goes who do seriously think will take over?

Yes he got his bonus at Palace early; a bonus which was conditional on him staying in position, then quit anyway.

Thankfully a Chairman said I'm not having that, give me the bonus back and a High Court Judge agreed that Pulis had lied and ordered him to pay £3.7m to Palace - much more than the bonus he had trousered.

Who we get after Pulis is something that should already be known by Gibson - the man has under a year left on his contract.

Pulis has made enough money and there wouldnít be a moment of hesitation of walking if he was pushed to it.

He walked away from a Premier league salary and bonuses with Palace, you think money would bother him with us?

As I stated in another post, weíre so lucky to have him and Gibson/Bausor have had his eyes out on this one. You could tell by his press conference he was livid and I donít blame him. Also letís be honest, he could walk into any struggling Premier league club and turn them around.

Total crap. Frankly he was lucky to get a job, any job after his reputation was trashed by the judgement in his bonus case. As for turning struggling clubs round he was turning WBA into a struggling side and couldn't turn them round.

If it is moving that way if I was Gibson I would be inclined to grasp the nettle and sack him now without compensation before he leaves us in the lurch in a few weeks time. Talking the club down as he is doing is arguably a sackable offence.

I am sure there will be a clause in his conduct to the effect that he must not do or say anything which harms the reputation of the club.

Sack him now without compensation [:D]

Pretty sure you canít actually do that.

Weíre lucky to have such an experienced manager, if he goes it will be Woodgate and he wonít get as much out the players as Pulis will, he might even take this team down whilst he learns the job.

Iíve written off this year but at least with Pulis in charge we will be organised and solid and then the next manager comes in with money to spend amd the likes of Downing off the wage bill.

We are not "so lucky to have him" and everything Pulis does is money driven.
That £3.7m hit was a very big one; of course he will focus on the money.

West Brom were relegated last season after nett spending 90m euros across his 3 summer windows. He was sacked and would not just walk into a PL job.

Have had his eyes out? you talk like Bauser is purposely not getting deals done, the players clubs didn't want to sell and then the obvious issue with agents.

Bauser was pushed into a corner as much as anyone else with the lateness of sales

"It's a disappointment for everyone at the football club."

Doesn't sound like Pulis is blaming anyone to me, hes united on this but just disappointed the final part of the transfer plan didn't go as planned. Its only the fans who are keen to play the blame game and claim that they are let down.

Read the press conference, he explains all himself he says we are weak in positions there is no blame, just disappointment the deals couldn't get over the line

Link: no blame game from Tony

Alright you donít like Pulis, we all got the message.

Letís become even more of a laughing stock sacking the bloke who got us to the playoffs when it looked like we were going nowhere and has us top of the league (yeh I know we are two games in) with a bare thin squad and losing his three best players.

Whilst weíre at it we can promote Woodgate to be the manager with Downing as his number two, what could go wrong? Itíll be Gibboís little wet dream coming true

I have no problem with the results so far. He got us in the play-offs. The likelihood is that we would have made the play-offs under Monk. The finalists in the play-offs were below us at the point Monk was sacked.

I am happy with the start we have made and we looked good on Tuesday. What is tedious is that Pulis seems to feel it necessary to run down our prospects at every available opportunity thus undermining his employer.

I am not really advocating that we sack Pulis but I am concerned that it might suit him to be sacked and that he could engineer a confrontation which led to a parting of the ways.

Or alternatively playing some mind games with the current squad to get them motivated.

I'm sure Gibson would be happy if he called him a "curly haired XXXXXXwomble" on the front of The Times if we were sitting top of the league in May.

I got the impression that when Pulis came he would be used almost as a consultant by the top people in the club: someone with experience who could offer more of a challenge than our usual rookie managers.

If that's the case, I would hope that before he walks (isn't it just an 18 month deal?) he might have carte blanche to overhaul our recruitment system.

Whether it was down to agents or whatever, it's yet another XXXXXX up for a club with money to spend and who still have a decent profile from a recent PL spell. Although every person in the stands knows that, at least Pulis may have some influence in changing it.
