I worked in that building once upon a time. Nice to see it's evaded the wrecking ball. It could have served the same purpose as the unpopular MIMA, with little construction needed and ample parking.

AB

Did you work there at any time between 1956 and 1966?

I bought a Kevin Palmer picture of the transporter when the ArtBank was open in Saltburn. I am glad to see it is doing well.

Red - good to hear you have a 'Kevin Palmer'
painting definately has a talent and good to see a local artist getting national attention [^]

Red - no I was there about '77-'79 when it was BSC, leaving just before the strike and it's consequences. Very much the end of an era; friday afternoons would never be quite the same.

If you are going at lunchtime then you can eat at the brasserie inside the gallery. It is a very popular place for breakfasts and lunch.

AB - cheers my dad was in the offices in the 1950 and 60s - I used the wave to him when a small child from the trolley bus, although he could not see me.

ALL - I would recommend the food and it must be one of the best value in the UK cheaper than Wetherspoons and not frozen microwaved.

Only problem is that I sometimes get lost finding the place.
