Edited On: 16/05/2018 20:32We couldn't sell out our allocation of tickets last night...

According to the Birmingham Mail.

"No fewer than 40,505 supporters crammed into Villa Park to witness Villa secure their spot at Wembley.

Had Boro filled the away end it would have been a sell-out.

"Why there were so many empty seats in the away end isn’t common knowledge. Maybe it has something to do with last night being Boro’s third Tuesday night trip to Villa Park this season?

Whatever the reason, you wouldn’t expect a club of Boro’s size not to fill their allocation for such an important match."

There were 15-20 empty seats near me, top left of stand. Also appeared to be a few Villa supporting families in our stand.

Yes, there was a row of around 8-10 empty seats near me, lower tier in the middle.

Still cannot get my head around how they sold out 2,000 tickets in 10 minutes when no one could get passed the wheel of death

The front two rows of the lower tier were taped off, and the two seats nearest the home fans in each row were unsold.

They would only sell us 2000 seats in a section that holds about 2800

We could have easily sold 8000

There was lots of empty seats all over the upper section

I am more concerned by the fact that people can't get their heads around them only selling us 2000 tickets, but the allocated space given to us having more than 2000 seat spaces.

Players get given 20 tickets each.

I know of 3 people that got tickets this way (2 not even Boro fans) and decided not to bother travelling down on the day. I doubt they’d have made that decision if we’d won on Saturday.

Annoying for genuine fans who can’t get tickets.

No mention by the local rag of the block of empty seats in their main stand ?

The lad next to me was on his own and moved about five minutes into the game leaving an empty seat. Saying that 95% of the 2000 seats were probably unused during the game.[;)]

The majority went to corporate ticket holders who then had to persuade interested customers to travel, midweek to villa and back, probably not interested

Something very funny went on,as everyone saw the tickets were all fully sold out in 10 minutes, Villa would have either left more rows at the back or left more for segregation, random dots of 5-6 empty seats around wouldn't have made sense. My guess is that a lot of VIPs, players tickets etc didn't turn up for it

How many first team players do we have?
