Can Britt Assombalonga be the difference ?

He's getting more game time recently a surely we can make it count .

Right now a £15m striker could be handy couldn't it ? [8D]

It would only be handy if he played like one.

To be fair to Britt, we are set up to play to a system that does not suit his strengths. He would be more effective in a 4-3-3 or a 4-4-2. The lone striker role does not suit him. He does not put the work rate needed into our current style, mainly i suspect he does not enjoy that side of things. I hope he proves me wrong when called on though

Judging the opposition on their respective league positions, he might be able to do a job against Ipswich.

We don't play high enough up the pitch for assombalonga to be effective, when monk was here the 3 forwards were always pushed right up so Britt always had support and didn't have to be so involved in the build up play so could concentrate more on making runs and finding space.

I'm not a huge fan of how pulis sets us up with the huge gap between midfield and attack, it may have been because bamford had gone off but we seemed pretty limited from open play.

If we get to go playing like he was at the start is the season he could of course do a job for us in this division. His record speaks for itself.

He is clearly a confidence player and it obvious TP could have handled him much better than he has.

with good man-management he should be able to have a big impact in the remaining games.. I'd like to see him be a good bit more physical with defenders..

Harrison
Baker
Fabio
Assombalonga

they could all have MASSIVE roles to play..

For me, Britt just needs to feed off crosses of scrambles in the box. He's great when he only needs to stick a boot on it and have one touch. He's terrible if he needs to think or be composed.

I don't think he has the ability to make a difference especially up top on his bill. Doesn't have any attributes that you need for the role.

He needs to at least pull his finger out and put 100% in for his last 3 games at the club it's the least he could do but hes not even capable of that most of the time.

He's been poor this season end of. You stick up for him all you want but I've watched him the same as everyone else and I see nothing worth 15 mil there. He doesn't even put a shift in. Technically and physically not good enough.

If he can somehow turn it around in the last few games and get a couple of goals and do a job for the team to get us in playoffs then he'll go some way to repaying the fee. Hope he does but im not holding much hope.

I thought his all round game was better in the last 2 games than it had been previously. Still doesn't look like a £15m striker though but as has been mentioned we aren't really suited to his game.

Dropped for half the season but STILL our top scorer .
I hope he plays and scores to shut the doubters up.

He wasn't dropped for half the season at all.
Started something like 6 of the games under Pulis, scored in none of them.

I hope he puts everything in when he plays, we can ask no more than that. Nor should we expect any less.

I'm not going to be two faced. I was excited when he signed - nearly everyone was. He isn't what I thought he was, but he may still be Johnny on the spot once or twice more this season in coming off the bench.
And that would be priceless.

I was watching him a lot on Saturday and he was always on the shoulder of the last man waiting for a ball to played through for him to run on to or making runs into space only for him having to check back because the ball didnít come to him.
On a couple of occasions he got the ball with his back to goal has was surrounded and had nowhere to go, and when he did get a chance it was when Bristol pushed on leaving big gaps, this allowed our midfield to then play the through balls for him.
In order for him to thrive we need a player with vision which we just donít have , sorry, which TP wonít play. If Baker played in the centre Iím sure him and Brit could work but thatís going to weaken us in the middle.....who would want to be a football manager?

Perhaps he can do for us at the upper end of the table what he did for Forest last season?
He kept them from relegation on the last day of the season.
Maybe he can show the same balls this season and score the winners in the last three games to get us up?
Mmmm I hope so.

But Danny Ayala seems more likely to score than him!
