Derby fans view of the boro result - they're not confident!

Was browsing the DCFC fans forum and they really are not confident at all. Most slating Rowett and resigned to losing at home to boro.

Over 70% of their fans are going for a boro win.

If we can avoid an early goal (like the last 2 matches) and get on the front foot I honestly think we could do a number on them as confidence is not good down there.

TBH Stan, that could be any saturday on flyme when we've gone a goal behind, no different to their fans really, 2 posts last week when asked, will we beat Bristol City, one said no, we're not good enough, even though we were above City & another saying, we're a very poor team, similar to what's been mentioned on their forum

If we beat Derby and Millwall lose this weekend from what I can work out we are only 2 points away from securing at least 6th (barring a massive swing in goal difference)

They are bound to feel that way due to recent form, how they have typically slumped towards the end of the season in the past and because we have a decent record there.

Our away form however has been terrible. Hopefully Saturdays result will give us a much needed boost

Assuming Cardiff beat Derby - forgot about that one!

Can you blame them based on recent form?

Having said that, now is not the time for us to get complacent even if we are slightly favored at the moment.

Sheff U fans said we would beat them.

At SU and Burton we started so badly. We must start sharp, energetic and aggressive. The first 10 minutes is not warm up time.

I honestly think on Saturday that we were better than normal, 2nd half at least, I think we go there confident and more than capable of doing a number on them.

I don't think a draw at Derby is a bad result either. If we draw and Millwall fail to beat Fulham on Friday (tough game) we still stay in 5th.

Likewise, if we draw on Sat the worst we can be is 6th regardless of what happens below us.. all ifs and buts i know, but still all definitely to play for.

If we can keep it tight for the first twenty minutes, their fans will start to get restless and nervous, which in turn will spread to their players. This game is very winnable for Boro

It's odd how season after season they fall apart around this time. When they beat us 3-0 at the Riverside I really thought this might finally be their season - even though we were the better team first half.

We can't afford to go there and be over-confident. There's every chance of us getting a result but they will be desperate to beat us as they have to play Cardiff and Villa still. Get off to a good start and maybe an early goal and their fans will turn on them.

Derby still have to play us, Cardiff and Villa (and Barnsley on the last day who may need to win to stay up) so very tough games.
Millwall still have to play us, Fulham and Villa. Also very tough games.
Its not inconceivale that either might not win another game (unlikely though)
Preston might sneak in yet- Norwich, Burton and Sheff Utd.

On the basis of our last two away games they ought to be pretty positive.

Looking at the table I think Brentford are the team that are most likely to sneak in to it, they have three very winnable games and if they win them all that will put them on 74 points and would mean we need to find five points from our remaining games to finish above them.

Squeaky bum time indeed.

This is what happens. They bottle it againsy everyone else. Then of course they will beat us. It's always like that.

They have a history of bottling it late and the fans know it. Frustrate them for the first 30 mins Saturday and the crowd will turn on them, the minimal confidence the players have will go and we can hopefully use it to our advantage and come away with the win. I couldn’t see us getting anything at Sheffield United but very confident in this game.

This is the thing, just about any team that finishes 5-8th goes through this every year. Derby fans perhaps have right to be even more concerned, given their awful record of choking year on year lately though.

The fact is, unless you go on an absurd run like Millwall - and i still don't think it lasts until the seasons end - then you have had a bunch of mixed results all year. Once you're in, you have a shot.

I have not forgotten how we got hammered at our place earlier in the season, so I cannot be optimistic about beating Derby. Would certainly take a draw!

Derby have won 4, drawn 8 and lost 5 in 2018. That's 4 wins in 17, we should be confident of going there and causing them problems, it's poor form. We have caught up a point every 2 games on them over that period.

Rowett is a good manager, I do think & have for a while, thought their defence Keogh in particular is often a liability..

I think we can win down their, lets hope we do..

For all the if's and but's we have to remember it is Boro we are talking about.

We need to start up for it and on the pace...how many times has that been said in the last 3-4 years, and how often have they done it when required?
very nervous for the next two games
