We have to have one in the West.

Al Queda
Isis
North Korea

All gone a bit quiet.......we need a bogeyman?

Russia again anyone? Yeah they’ll do for a bit....

Is the inference that the west have killed some Russian guys and framed Russia for it so we have someone to portray negatively in the media?

Do you want to expand? Who's in on it? What's the motive? Hasn't Trump just sacked someone for trying to blame Russia? Doesn't seem to be much method to the madness of this post to be honest, El-Guapo.

No real inference of anything. It just seems that as one threat to the west subsides another rises to take it’s place.

Very simplistic I know, I am perhaps just a bit worn down the politics of fear maybe.

The world is run by mad and evil men, largely to their own needs and ends, why should anyone be surprised that there is always the need to have enemies?

I agree to an extent, newspapers need headlines I suppose, there's probably more quiet news days than we realise because the big one's dictate our memories and timelines.

I usally wait till Spring when everything brightens up when I start considering darker matters like who is this years bogeyman.

A few candidates this year, Trump, Putin, Rees-Mogg but it's very likely i'll give it to Derby County's Ted McMinn again.

The OP has nailed it. This has gone on for time immemorial. It is reminiscent of some German bloke in the late 1930s, forget his name. Totally demonised by the UK turned out he was completely .......... ahhh.[rle]
