The later 70s for me

It's an odd decade tbf, includes all the Rock stuff, then the Glam, the Punk and then all the weird and mainstream punk off shoots. With Rock continuing through the decade

The 80s were much simpler [:D]

Best guitar riff ever. Most successful British band of the 70's. Still massively underrated.

Im not shouting was just too far through the sentence to retype

Contrast with the amount of cover versions and "featuring" crap that goes on now

The 70's was a great time for music with people like Simon and Garfunkel releasing 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' to the Sex Pistols 'God Save the Queen' album; and then you had every other type of music in between.

Around 77 I had just discovered girls and was going baby siting with them, armed with a handful of LP's to change the mood. Diana Ross & the Supremes 20 Golden Greats was one of my favourites and I have a lot to thank these ladies for. [;)]

The following year I had left school and use to sneak into the Magnet (Grangetown) for their Friday night disco. I use to love the floor fillers of Third finger left hand & Jimmy Mack - although not 1970's records, they did play a huge part in my life at this time and they still bring a smile to my face.

Around this time The Specials, The Beat, and my favourite Selecter came on the scene and I got heavily into this music.

I was also attending Wigan Casino all nighters and loved soul music. The range of music I listened to was just weird.

My sons go through our vinyls and you can tell which are mine and which are the wives.

Norman_Conquest, [^] Who wants to grow old, great looking back at times with music & Boro, fantatsic memories.

I was more in to glam rock, then disco & new romatics in the 80's, not till many, many years later did I start to enjoy punk

I was never in to Northern Soul, don't mind a few records but couldn't say I was a fan, my younger brother, ketty, use to go to quite a lot to the Wigan Casino, he was massively in to NS, he would do quite a few NJ Djing

It was a real social taboo to break wind in public back in the 70s. It didn't really feature in any comedy shows before the infamous 'Blazing Saddles' movie.

Trouser coughs featured more in the 80s and 90s and by 2017 there are not many animated movies without a fart scene.

It just shows how much trouser coughs have progressed in our culture, and not just in the concourses of the Riverside.
