Paul Anderson RIP

Sitting in the car after the Villa game came some terrible shocking news that put everything into perspective.
Paul Anderson was a big Boro fan and a really special guy.
You may remember his daughter Georgina a talented local singer cruelly struck down with cancer in her teens. She was able to realise her final wish recording a hit single that was broadcast on the big screen at the Riverside with her viewing pitchside with Jonathan Woodgate.
Paul and his wife Helen somehow managed to dig deep and go on and I guess live for Georgina as well.
I met Paul when he invited me for a tribute night to Georgina given by her friends at TUNED IN, Redcar.
Since then I was proud to call this remarkable man a friend as I know many of you were too.
His resilience and unstinting good humour as well as sense of humour made him an inspiration. He was always there supporting local events as well as the Boro. And he supported so many people through their troubles. Offering kind words of advice and just a helping hand.
Thoughts to Paul's wife and son.

Didn't know Paul but he sounds like quite a guy. Life is very cruel at times.

I hope his wife and son find some comfort in his legacy and peace moving forward.

RIP Paul.

Paul was a lovely man. It's a terrible tragedy for Helen, who wrote so beautifully about the struggle of coming to terms with the loss of their daughter. Some people seem to have more than their fair share to cope with.

RIP fella [|)]

There is a nice piece in the Gazette online this afternoon about Paul and his family.

I don't this family personally, but as above some people have more than their share of heartache.

Having lost my own dad suddenly 15 years ago with something very similar, I can completely empathise with this. May this lady and her family get the strength from somewhere to carry on after already having to cope with such a tragic family loss x
