If the shot Hogan cleared off the line...

...deflected in to the net, would it have been disallowed for offside?

No because they still got a corner out of it, I wondered that myself. Would have been hilarious if he did blow for offside like in FIFA

Should have blown offside if he was, as soon as it touches him he's interfering

Possibly. He looks pretty much level with the keeper and last defender....we'll never know. But if he wasn't flagged when it hit him, maybe not.

should have been offside, even if he wafted a leg towards it and missed it would have been offside. It seems the lino missed it and we got lucky

If the shot Hogan cleared off the line...

Was impossible for him to be offside when the Keeper and Gibson where on the goal line

I don't think Randolph is on the goal line; Hogsn's behind him

Randolph is laid on the line with half of his body behind the line

Not when the shot is struck he isn't.

Hogan has his feet on the goal line. Randolph move off his line in an attempted dive.

If he's so much as an inch off his line at that point, Hogan's offside, yes?

On second viewing you are right, Randolph, Gibson and Hogan are all partly over the line, therefore they are all levelon the field of play...there is of course the question of re-entering the field of play without the refs permission, not sure if you have to entirely leave the pitch for that to apply.

Forget Randolph. Surely Hogan is behind Gibson (or whoever it is closest to him) when the ball is struck?

nope as the ball is struck all three players have part of their body over the goal-line. So the goal-line becomes the offside line and they are all level.

You're right Boromart. Now I've been able to freeze it at the right point, you can see that they're all "part of the line". Onside.

Can anyone remember the exact same thing happening to Villa back in the 80s at Arysome Park I think it was a shot by Gary Thompson that hit Tony Daley
