Dropping back into the centre half position.

It splits the centre halves and they end up almost in the full back positions.

It's just too negative for me. Let him sit in front of the back 4 doing what he's best at; breaking up play and advancing the ball forward to others who are more comfortable with it.

It's to allow the full backs to go further up the pitch, but you knew that anyways. [;)]

I think it works fine, in fact I like it.

Clayton is an easy out ball if the defenders are in possession meaning they don't have to good it. I thought we worked our way out of some dodgy looking situations quite well.

He was given MOTM by Sky, so can't be all that bad eh?

I don't mind it, it works well.

We have 2 full backs there that are good at pushing on and going forward. We should utilise that whichm we are doing and that means Clayton dropping back when he has to.

Also, with the likes of Christie being able to be in possession up the fight and looking to cross, we had 3 or 4 players in the box. It's a nice change from seeing us having 1 player against 3 defenders like last season.

i like it.

seeing the back 4 just rotate when one of the full backs is pushing on. it also seemed to limit sheff utds full backs, too.

to be honest, the system played today is claytons ideal position, i think. its what he does best, allowing other players to be creative.

dont mind it but we will have to accept that we will concede goals by doing it. probably see a few similar goals to the wolves game.a

it helps us push up and we should win a lot of second balls through it.

I think that works quite well. Allowing the wing backs to push forward. The only but I'm uneasy about is having too many players out of position so we have to make sure we keep the ball or go long ball at that point.

I am more unhappy about the lack of closing down when we don't have the ball on the half way line and beyond. Howson hasn't impressed me yet.

not sure i like the role either. but he played it to perfection today.

I see a place for it against the better teams
