Surely the Ayala situation has to wait to see what happens with Ben Gibson? If Chelsea do come in with a 30m offer, which the press are reporting, we can't sell both players? The other centre back is a loan player who could be recalled!

We won't get a huge fee as he only has 6 months left of his contract. He signed a 3.5 year deal in January 2014.

if he gets a permanent move to a championship club then i would guess you are looking at 5m-6m and possibly sell on clause and top ups for appearances and promotion.

If Fulham come up with a deal that suits the club then that's fair enough, it appears that he's dropped down to 4th choice here and for the sake of his own career needs to be playing.

Ayala has done very well for us but if the manager thinks he's surplus to requirements and he can strengthen the squad with the revenue generated by his sale then so be it.

I would hope he'd go for more than 5 or 6m though, if he is allowed to leave, probably our best and most consistent performer over last couple of seasons. Should be at least 10m in todays market, even then i'd rather keep the player. If he's unsettled then that's different, no point keeping unsettled players but why would he extend his contract last aug if thats the case?

10m from a prem side but i dont know if any clubs in the championship have that kind of money. so maybe a lower fee but with a good sell on clause added in. and hes not played much in the top flight and did himself no favours getting sent off

His wife still works from her office in Stevenage - self employed - it was discussed a couple of weeks back. A London club would be ideal if the price is right.

Ayala is as good as Gibbo if not better as he weighs in with goals, yet he is worth less than 10 but Gibbo over 30 ...how?
Just cos he's young and English?

in that case we can expect a few big prem sides to come in for ayala

Why are people wanting to get rid of one of our better players?

Fair enough if he is always injured but he's still an integral part of the SQUAD for me, if not first team over Chambers when fit.

For the Championship Ayala is the best central defender in it, we saw them all last year. We know he works well with Gibson. We he returned last year we went 11 games unbeaten. Selling him for 6m would be crazy. He needs some love

Chambers is only a loan player he belongs to arsenal and as far as we know they want him back at some stage. He is decent, but not effective as Ayala as we saw at the arsenal game.

Where is this XXXXXXe about crossing the boss coming from?
Downing has started the majority of the season and was sub for much of the rest. Hardly been frozen out.
Ayala presumably lost his place because he's unreliable with "injuries".

His missus may not be 'unsettled', but she does spend a lot of time travelling to Stevenage where her business is located. She admitted it was not ideal with having a young child. There was a big article in the Gazette a couple of weeks back.

None of that means there is any likelihood of Ayala leaving, but you can see the attraction of a London-based team.

I like Ayala and I still think he can do a good job for us although he's not my first and second pick - he lacks mobility - which was illustrated with the red card on sunday. I hope he stays.

Even If he wants away Easy?

He was (up to last season) my favourite player and the first name on the team sheet. However, It is obvious to most who watch and listen that he and Karanka don't see eye to eye. If Ayala wont or can't apply Aitor's philosophy and methods then he must, with regret, be allowed to leave.

I appreciate we do not know what the issues are and probably never will, but the Head Coach comes before any player whilst in

Every man and his dog has been the instigator of the fallout. Ayala was not the instigator at all.

As for his injury, all the medical staff can do is what they're taught and what they know, if he says he's feeling pain despite nothing to suggest he should be then that's up to Ayala. If we're offered 8 million for a bloke who is happy to argue the toss with our medical staff and insist he feels pain when there's nothing to suggest he should then I'd snap their hands off. Immense CB who sadly appears to have questionable mentality.

5m-6m in todays market is well under valued. He's worth at least 10m. He's a top player capable of playing and doing a good job at premiership level. Havent we just had a reported 7m bid turned down for Charlie Taylor? If thats the bench mark we shouldnt be considering anything near that amount.

We're in a strong financial position at the moment. If clubs want him they have to meet our valuation.

Or you could sack the medical team for not knowing why he is feeling the pain.

Agree it's a strange one but I've seen nothing from his on-field play to suggest he's not fully committed to playing.

I would personally pay for a helicopter to fly his mrs from Stevenage to Teesside to keep him at boro.

Honestly people have short memories he is a class act and with a run in the team is a better player than Gibson.
