Ty Proctor has declared himself fit for the Bears Press and Practice session at the South Tees Motorsport Park on Thursday 1pm) despite being involved in a massive pile up in Heat 14 of the Prince of Wales at Newport Speedway on Sunday afternoon.

Poole's Jason Doyle fell directly in front of Proctor after the riders entered the first bend of the second lap with the young Bear having no chance of avoiding his fellow Australian and both riders cart-wheeled into Newport's newly installed airfence where both were embedded. It was here that Ty suffered a very painful burn on his left arm.

Doyle was taken to hospital with a broken shoulder but the Bear of the Year declined any further attention thankful that the airfence prevented more serious damage upon impact.

With Craig Watson having suffered a shattered left leg in Heat 13 the respective delays meant that the meeting only ran to Heat 16 out of 20 scheduled heats with Workington's Kevin Doolan taking the £1000 first prize in a four man run-off
