Chances are we need you and your friends’ help! So starts an appeal from a new football website that aims to be a one stop shop for football films of all finds and club colours. What Boro material is there out there that we should send them?

Footballshorts.org is a new platform which is collecting football-related documentaries, short films and feature films, all in one place. Our aim? To highlight and promote football stories which should be valued and told.

To do this, we need the support from as many individuals, fanzines and fan groups as possible!

What do we need?

Simply, let us know of any football documentaries that you love, or ones that you feel need to be shared with the world.

Anything else?

If you are a writer (or simply want to write about why you love a particular film) we would love to hear from you! We plan to feature people’s stories on the site and hope that, over time, we can build a large catalogue of stories, sourced from a wide range of people and groups, which will serve to represent our collective story of the game.

Why should I bother?

We want to bring attention to as many clubs as possible – at all levels and across the globe. This means yours too! When sharing your story, we will promote and share the story with links to your (or your group’s) wider work.

And, if you have anything else you would like to contribute, we are open to suggestions! Ultimately, we want to build this platform together with the fans, for the fans. We believe that we can bring the football community closer together, by sharing a variety of stories in one place.

Is there any money involved? Who profits?

The answer to both is ‘no’ – at least at this point.

Footballshorts.org is run by a small team of passionate volunteers, with the dream that one day we could turn the site into a social enterprise. Should the project ever be able to turn a profit, all financial gains would be invested back into further developing the site (this includes local contributors, which could be you), for good causes, or to offer young filmmakers a platform to grow.

What do I do now?

The simplest way to help would be to follow us on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter – or visit the site at footballshorts.org – so you can keep updated with the stories we are sharing. Also, tell friends/fan groups that we’re looking for their stories and encourage them to get in touch, so we can help voice them. Simply DM us or email footballshortsfilm@gmail.com

We would love you to get in touch and offer us your suggestions on how you would might want to contribute!
