Get to meet the most successful backroom team in Boro's history - most probably. Cup winning manager Steve McClaren has been reunited with sports psychologist Bill Beswick and coach Steve Harrison in a series of interviews by former Boro media manager, Dave Allan. Boro Backtrack is the name of this youtube game, weekly interviews with former Boro greats.

The interviews with the trio clearly show the chemistry between this winning backroom team that launched Boro at our only ever trophy and then took on the might of Europe in two unforgettable UEFA Cup campaigns. Steve McClaren starts by talking about his backroom staff and how central they were to the five year era, his best ever signings.

Dave Allan teases out a few trade secrets along with getting Steve McClaren and his coaches to name their most influential players, those with the strength of personalty to impose a winning mentality at Boro. Also hear how Steve Harrison feared it might all be curtailed almost before it all started. But how Steve Gibson showed his class, Boro class, to stand behind them.

Steve McClaren still clearly revels in tactics but Bill Beswick offers up plenty of detail into the mental background. Steve Harrison is full of anecdotes. Between them the trio conjure up that winning formula and take us right back again to the heady Premier days beginning almost 20 years ago.

Dave Allan is conducting a series of Boro interviews to brighten up our lock-down days. Former Boro captain and manager Tony Mowbray is next on the list later this week before popular Dutch winger Bolo Zenden will be making his Backtrack bow in the near future.

The youtube interviews make good use of the ZOOM format we have become so used to over the COVID life and times. The three talking heads are shown on screen together with questioner Dave Allan and it really makes for a very entertaining format. Splitting the session into three bite-sized chunks of around 20 minutes definitely leaves something to look forward to between instalments.

Go and check out Tees Life Boro Backtrack with McClaren, Beswick and Harrison and then prepare for Mogga's return.
