Our latest podcast recorded this morning in a link up between Lincoln and Ayresome Park. Twenty five minutes of Boro talk about Brentford, Wigan and what they had in common with our season starter away at the home of this weekend's opponents The Hatters of Luton.

Apt really to be speaking from Ayresome Park, a mere John Hendrie tap in away from the final goal here that was scored against Saturday's opponents Luton Town. Yes, the last time we played The Hatters here was pre Riverside. So, much water has passed beneath the Newport Bridge since then for both clubs.

We ponder over what there is left to play for this season. Surely far more than pride. Positive results over the next couple of games against Luton and then away at Barnsley could see any lingering relegation worries brushed aside. That has to be the immediate aim.

In the meantime can we see any glimmer of light in the bigger picture? Is there any pattern emerging as we put in place the foundation stones for next season and make an attempt to join the likes of Bristol City, Preston North End and Nottingham Forest in challenging for play offs and automatic promotion.
