Middlesbrough Supporters Forum is holding its next food bank collection on Saturday 15th February 2020 – the match v Luton Town.

With the support of Middlesbrough Football Club, the Forum has once again arranged a donation point close to the North Stand turnstiles for dry and non-perishable foods, or cash donations, to support the invaluable work the foodbank does in the town.

The MSF collections are further enhanced by Middlesbrough F C announcing permanent collection points in the stadium club shop, main ticket office and at the Herlingshaw Centre in Teesville.

Middlesbrough Foodbank is part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by the Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

It provides three days’ of nutritionally balanced emergency food to local people who are referred in crisis.

Chris Joseph, chair of the MSF said:  “Since we started our food bank collections the generosity of Boro fans has been overwhelming and I am certain that they will rally round again to help those less fortunate.

“The collection is the day after Valentine’s Day so what better opportunity to ‘share the love’ around and show people, who through no fault of their own, are struggling to make ends meet that Middlesbrough supporters really do care about their community.

“We also applaud the club for embracing this important initiative and installing three donation points.  Every single tin, packet or pound coin really matters and makes a huge difference.”

Urgently needed items required include:

Tinned tomatoes

Mashed Potato (packets)

Rice pudding

Tinned Carrots

Tinned vegetarian meals (macaroni cheese)

Long Life Juice

Tinned meat (e.g. chicken casserole, chicken in sauce, spag bol, ravioli)

Tinned Meat (ham, corned beef, spam)

Tinned Fish

Cash donations are also welcomed to enable urgently needed items to be purchased.
