Jonathan Woodgate was delighted at the Boro business over the January transfer window. Ravel Morrison and Cameroon international defender Harold Moukoudi from Saint Etienne Man City were the deadline day loan arrivals as Paddy Reading left permanently for Stevenage as well as a host of young players going out and getting loan experience with other clubs.

So, there have been plenty of ins and outs with the biggest money exchanging hands over goalkeepers with of course Darren Randolph leaving for Premier West Ham and Dejan Stojanovic arriving from Swiss club St Gallen. Man City duo Patrick Roberts and Lukas Nmecha have already shown plenty of potential, though sadly Roberts is out injured now for a couple of months.

Now that the transfer window has slammed shut Jonathan Woodgate can concentrate on moulding his squad and getting and moving on up the league. With the long term futures of Hayden Coulson and Marcus Tavernier also secured Boro can now put down the foundations for the future and start to build something promising here.

That process starts today when we welcome back Boro heroes Tony Mowbray and Stewart Downing with their Blackburn Rovers side on a hot streak of form. A 5-0 win away at Sheff Wed and then a 2-1 home win over QPR put them in tenth place and eyeing up a play off finish. A team containing goals and attacking talent will certainly test our mettle. But can Boro bounce back refreshed and reinvigorated after the extended break following last weekend's rest weekend?

Get yourself down to the Riverside today. We can all pay our respects to Tony Mowbray and please spare a quid and half for a fanzine which as well as loads of Boro comment and gubbins finds space for lots of fan tributes and Mowbray memories. Oh and with this now being February, that means Carling Cup final anniversary month, we have printed loads of personal stories around the historic cup win in Cardiff. So please buy the fanzine, avalable at the Good Food Joint and from Tom at the subway and me under Shepherdson Bridge in front of the Riverside.
