Issue 601 – our Boxing Day Special is now available to buy through the fanzine shop. As well all our talented fan writers we have interviews with two players that had starring roles over the festive period, Jonny Howson, Mr Utility himself. Also, Ashley Fletcher reflects back on how going to Sunderland was the making of him. Just think of how that wonder goal at West Brom was still to come off his boot. And there was me comparing him to Dele Ali.

Read about the Boro players visit to James Cook University Hospital. Children unlucky enough to be in hospital just before Christmas were given gifts and words of encouragement from our favourite football team.

The players were also busy at the Riverside Children's party an annual event that rewards deserving children from Teesside. I chatted with George Saville, another to make his mark in recent games as well as flying wing back Hayden Coulson.

We previewed a new Boro book. The Little Book of Boro. If you have any book tokens it might be worth trying to track any of these fan-tastic little paperbacks down. The result of a fan writer story competition, the overall winner was octogenarian Jack Bolton who reminisced back to watching Brentford at Griffin Park just after the war. Talk about the ups and downs we have witnessed in recent weeks, nothing compared to the lifetime of Boro devoured by our Jack.

We also paid our respects to the very wonderful Jean Thomason, our friend in Bolton, the lifelong Wanderer who found a place in her heart for Mackenzie Thorpe, the Transporter Bridge and the Boro. Sadly Jean passed away earlier in the season and we give a little tribute to a friendship forged through football and striving away in unfashionable northern towns.

All this and far more is available for you to purchase.
