How times change for Boro, back a month ago and we were struggling on the pitch, two men red carded and falling to defeat away at Swansea. Go back to last January and when we really needed to leap into the transfer market the window remained pretty much sealed up and Tony Pulis had to take the players down the pub for a consolation pint. Things are looking up for 2020 and we celebrate with a podcast.

Boro have leapt into transfer action bringing in two loan signings in Patrick Roberts and Lucas Nmecha. Both exciting prospects from Man City, Roberts has already extensive experience at Celtic, Nmecha knows the Championship from his spell at Boro's last opponents Preston. They both hold out the promise of added width, Nmecha can play as a striker also.

With Djed Spence, Hayden Coulson and Marvin Johnson all shining over the festive period suddenly Boro have lots of options out wide. And with Rudy Gestede scaring the life out of Preston Jonathan Woodgate has added firepower to select from, as well as different strategies to mull over for his attacking formation.

In this podcast, that comes slightly under 30 minutes (27 minutes), myself and Southside Broadcasting anchorman, Alex Lewczuk celebrate our 4 back to back to back to back victories. We put them together with the four successive home wins and ask is this not a very good time to be going head to head with Jose Mourinho's faltering Spurs?

Can Boro force the issue and bridge that gulf between the divisions to put a complaining smirk back across Jose's face? The pressure has to be on the visitors. Can we make home advantage count?

This podcast was recorded live for listeners at James Cook University Hospital and is available to listen now or download HERE
