Boro's defeat at Blackburn meant Jonathan Woodgate is still searching for a first league win wouldn't it be good if that came against Wigan. Boro play Wigan at the Riverside Tuesday night 7.45pm kick off. Be there and support the team through to a first win.

Boro could do with a big week before the pressure starts to build with the team currently down in the relegation places. But with so few games having been played one win would see us catapulted up the table and ahead of Wigan on 3 points, a team also feeling under some early pressure to bounce back from a 2-0 home defeat to Leeds last weekend.

Hopefully Adam Clayton feels sufficiently re-energised to start again. The team always seems to be better equipped when he he is tearing around the pitch closing players down players and angles. We should also keep in mind that Luton Town and the first half against Brentford were very recent events. It won't take too many breaks in our favour to click back into that form again. But we need to see more shots on goal and on target. We have slipped well short of the amazing number of efforts at Kenilworth Road. Lewis Wing needs to find his range again and have a starting position further up the pitch.

Boro will be without Hayden Coulson again as well as Dael Fry but are hopeful George Friend can shake off the thigh injury that saw him subbed at Ewood Park. The left back's runs forward runs threatened to open up Blackburn on Saturday but then the home team settled in and out-pressed us. Wigan could be missing several first teamers, can we profit from this?

Marcus Browne made a positive impact off the bench at Rovers and was unlucky not to score a first Boro goal. He could be competing with Marvin Johnson for a place in the starting line up. Whoever plays we need width and some injections of pace to get behind the Latics. Then can we get Britt snapping back into goal scoring action again? Also we must endeavour to get in-form Ashley Fletcher on the ball and especially in more dangerous positions to attack the Wigan goal.

What we would give for last season's 2-0 home win. Who will step forward and grab the goals this time around?

Get behind the Boro – come on ye reds.
