Boro play their final pre season friendly at the Riverside this afternoon taking on French side St Etienne – 3pm kick off. Tickets available for £10 full, £5 concessions. All details on Boro site mfc.co.uk

It is a last chance to see how Boro's team is shaping up towards the season under new head coach Jonathan Woodgate and his staff led by Leo and Robbie Keane. It is a first opportunity to see Woodgate as a manager at the Boro home ground and to see how we look when pitted against a decent level of opposition.

St Etienne will forever be famed for their European Cup final defeat to Bayern Munich at Hampden Park in 1976. Since those heady days they have been up and down and round the houses. These days the team famed for playing in light green are to be found in Ligue 1. They have just signed Algerian international attacking midfielder Ryad Boudebouz from Real Betis for around €4m and have sold defender William Saliba to Arsenal for 30m but he is being loaned back immediately.

Will Boro have new signing Marcus Browne in the squad? And what will positive reports that Dael Fry is fit mean for our backline? Will it be Shotton and Ayala or will Fry or Friend feature in the centre? With big reports of Boro looking to buy Blackpool left back Bola who will be pulling on no.3 shirt today, Friend or Coulson?

Lets hope Britt is as hot to handle as he was at Salford. Above all lets hope the team is working far better now and at a different level to that taken apart in Germany. We have higher level opponents today and need to rise to that challenge. This is exactly the kind of game we need now less than a week until we kick off our Championship campaign at Luton on Friday.

Come On Boro
