Boro have had a torrid week, can we bounce back at Villa Park? Two successive home defeats have seen us drop from automatic promotion possibles to now clinging on to a play off place by our finger tips. Now, we must go to the stadium that provided the full stop to our season last May and avenge that play off defeat to give us renewed hope this time around. Villa v Boro 3pm tomorrow.

Hold your nerve tomorrow as Boro step back into an arena that was heartbreaker last May as we failed to break a resolute Aston Villa. Now suddenly they are on a surge up the table, driven on by a fit-again and inspired Jack Grealish, they present a formidable challenge. Having just hammered Nottingham Forest back down the table, Villa seem to be finally coming good. Just at the time we are faltering. Can we put the breaks on our own downturn in form by at least taking a point back from the West Midlands?

Boro's two big weaknesses this season have been home form and failure to convert chances home and away. We paid for both failings against Brentford and Preston. We had squandered chances away at Wigan in the 0-0. Yet we have remained hard to breakdown on our travels. With or without Ayala (we are appealing the red card 4 match ban) we must return to our water tight defences but we have to be clinical when we carve out chances.

We created plenty of shots on target against Preston and there were moments of real bad luck, I am thinking particularly of Mikel's shot against the inside of the post. Yet others squandered far simpler chances and Fletcher's goal was only propelled goal-ward by a lucky looping deflection.

Talking of Mikel, he was looking jaded in the past couple of games, in fact he was subbed v Preston. He is a key player for us and we need him fully firing at Villa Park, to make the whole team and game plan tick.

I think I would settle for a draw, even though that would make for a very nervous finish to the game. But at least the point would be a point in the right direction and leave us something to build on when we return from the international break. That would be a welcome pause for breath and recharging the batteries before embarking on nine massive games.

Can we tame the Villans and stop their charge up the table? A draw would raise doubts in their players and fans minds and would protect our 4 point advantage over another formidable opponent in the race for the play offs.

Come On Boro and Up The Boro
