Another stern test for Tony Pulis as we bid to bounce back from defeat at Sheff Utd away at Blackburn Rovers on Sunday. Tony Mowbray's side are on a bad, losing run but Boro are desperate for a first win since away at WBA. We are now clinging on to the final play off position and stringing some results together is needed sooner rather than later. Kick off at Ewood Park is 1pm, Sunday.

Boro must cosign that defeat at Bramall Lane into the past with a good performance and result at Ewood Park. Tony Mowbray's team really impressed when they played at the Riverside and one of the stars of that show, Bradley Dack, is likely to return to the starting line up along with former boro forward, Danny Graham. We will need to keep them quiet with what will be a botched together defence that is missing lynchpins Aden Flint and Daniel Ayala. Dack tormented us at the Riverside and it would just be like Danny Graham to score against his first club.

Tony Pulis was toying with bringing in a youngster to plug the gap, Nathan Wood was used in several League Cup matches whilst still just 16 years if age. But could it be Ryan Shotton and/or George Friend moving into the middle and Paddy McNair coming in. Mikel will be needed as a screen for the defenders.

But we need to make and take some chances at the other end. We could do with a fully fit Lewis Wing to kick on from that excellent team goal against Leeds. An early goal would create a platform before the attacking reinforcements are moved on second half, Britt and maybe Van La Parra or Downing have the ability to make it a telling end for Boro. But we need to be in the match for them to add the extra winning ingredient to get us over the line.

Tony Pulis recently praised Tony Mowbray as an unsung hero for the way he balanced the books but also nudged the club forward in his spell in charge at the Boro. The Boro legend has made a big impression managing in the north west, bringing the team back from the third flight but will be keen to stem the losing run that threatens their season of consolidation in the Championship.

Blackburn have offered good away ticket prices which are sure to be taken up by families looking to go west for half term. Lets hope we are all cheering a victory from the Darwen End tomorrow afternoon.

Come on Boro and Up The Boro
