The last week sums up the highs and lows of following Middlesbrough FC, a superb away win at WBA was followed by humiliation in the FA Cup at Newport County. That is something that this weekend's League opponents. Leeds know all about, having lost last season at Rodney Parade. We need to quickly tune in and rise up once again and vanquish top of the table chasing Leeds and get back on track. Kick off is early, Saturday at 1pm.

I think many of us expected the Leeds challenge to blow up once the early season fitness advantages of the Bielsa regime had been negated. But no, they mean business as full time title contenders. But having been beaten by Norwich last week we could do ourselves and everyone else in the league a mighty favour by sewing seeds of doubt with another defeat.

That task would have been hard enough in any case against a real power house outfit but coming after the giant killing of Newport and whatever injuries were picked up on rain sodden Rodney Parade we will have our work cut out.

It is ironic that Boro have looked far better set up to tackle opponents away from home, staying compact and defensive and hitting teams on the counter. We have come unstuck so often at home where teams can frustrate against a Boro side lacking pace, width and cutting edge. Bielsa would not need any training ground spies to know the route to Boro's downfall is to turn the crowd and get everyone tense and misfiring.

Damaging defeats against Forest, Villa and even Sheff Wed have shown us some way short of the mark. But Tony Pulis did a fine job against West Brom. Britt blasted his way back to form. Will the manager have an answer to halt Leeds?

Whatever our fans take on the manager, the tactics, the players and the season tomorrow is a time to come together against an old enemy. You either shout for Boro or you are supporting Leeds. That is the reality and no Boro fan wants to shout for Leeds. Just as at the Hawthorns last week we can experience a resurgence together. Whatever team we field, we can and will get behind them. We are fifth in the league only 7 points behind our opponents. The fans are hurting but surely those players are also hurting after Newport. Lets turn all that anger and angst and channel it against Leeds United.

Forget all the divisions. You are with us or against us this weekend. We need to beat Leeds and Leeds and Leeds.

Come On Boro and Up The Boro
