Boro can now relax and look to go onwards and upwards now after the international break. We proved we were (more than) a match for Leeds going head to head and toe to toe with the league leaders at their home. Now with loan transfer reinforcements in the pack and young players pride and almost ready we look all set to really challenge at the top over the months ahead.

Perhaps unlucky not to be awarded at least one penalty Boro gave every bit as good as they got on a frantic Friday at Elland Road. It was a ferocious encounter but in a good way. The hand shakes at the end showed the mutual respect on the pitch and I think rather more begrudgingly Boro and Leeds fans would admit that both teams and clubs look set for the long haul this season. Now we must show we can dig in and drop anchors in a promotion position and stay put through the long autumn and winter months ahead.

That is of course easier said than done but the acquisition of the classy and workaholic George Saville will bring goals as well as more guile through our midfield. The retention of Martin Braithwaite means that we have amazing competition for places in the creative hub of the field ahead Elland Road Man of the Match Adam Clayton.

Sam McQueen brings youthful vigour but also half a season's worth of Premier starts. Danny Batth will mean we will not fall short of quality central defenders when they start clocking up yellow cards and injuries.

Sadly we were not able to land any wide players and or players of pure pace. But could that leave the door open for some of our own to come through and challenge? As we blocked up all the exits only allowing Marvin Johnson to go out for the season to Sheffield United. But there could be opportunities for others for others to make an impression running down the sides.

It will be a long road ahead but at this present moment Boro look to be in a good position, long may it last. Come On Boro and Up The Boro.
