The whole world as we knew it has been blown apart as England actually won a World Cup penalty shoot out to defeat Columbia and reach the Quarter Finals. The whole nation will be locked in on our last eight game v Sweden on Saturday. This is the best chance we have had since Italia 90 to reach a semi final. Go Gareth.

What a night it was. England bossed the first half against a Columbia side playing defensively in the absence of their star player, James Rodriguez, who could only act as cheer leader from the sidelines.

Gareth Southgate, former cup winning skipper of Boro and later manager, looked composed, cool and collected throughout. Can he lead us to a new promised land?
