That 3-0 defeat for Millwall coupled with the fact the Lions must play at Boro next weekend and then clash with Aston Villa must give us every chance to finish above them. In fact if we could get a positive result at Derby we could come close to finishing their challenge at the Riverside next weekend.

It is not just a three horse race of course and things can change week by week but the task in hand now is not to get beaten. But a victory and revenge over that 3 goal drubbing by Derby would be so sweet.

We must start at a tempo and give their players and fans plenty of reasons for doubt. They have tripped up season after season in the run in. That recent 3-1 loss to local rivals Burton, once their Hartlepool or Darlington, will really have hurt. If we could grab an early goal it will hurt them all the more.

Ifs and buts of course. Tony Pulis was totally focussed on the Derby game at Friday's 1pm press conference he would not speculate beyond the 90 minutes at Pride Park. That is absolutely the attitude to take going into such a massive contest. If we get it right tomorrow then we have made a giant step forward towards the play offs.

I asked Tony Pulis a couple of questions at that press conference.

Q: We sold out the away allocation at Derby will that help give the players a boost?

TP: The away support has been absolutely fantastic this year, it has been tremendous. And they have stuck with us in the last two games. Obviously the Burton game where we didn't play very well but came on late and got what now looks like a good point (smiles) and then obviously Sheffield United where we were poor first half but second half we picked it up and the support was absolutely fantastic.

So, yes we need them. As soon as the game starts, it is the players performing and the supporters helping them. And you get there. And you feel a little bit isolated at times but you are hoping and praying that it all goes together and yes the support will be important tomorrow as well.

Q: You mentioned Sheffield United and it struck me at that our second half performance could be important at the end of the season, I am meaning both the fight the players showed and the way the fans got behind them.

TP: Well, I haven't been up here very long but I come from a working class background and a working class area and the one thing they always appreciated, if they spent a couple of bob they wanted to get their money's worth. And I think players running around, having a go is what they would class as their money's worth. Yes, they want to see technically good players and they want to see excitement. And they have got that in bits and pieces, maybe we would like a little bit more but with Adama and people of great quality like Patrick, whoever it is you have got to be running around because they want to see the team running around.

Q: Daniel Ayala has scored in the last few games and George Friend also scored v Bristol City, does that help ease the pressure up front when other players score?

TP: I think everybody in the team should chip in. People talk about having a centre forward who gets 20 goals and this, that and the other. I would rather have a team where two centre halves get 7 or 8 goals between them, the midfield players get 6 or 7, the wide players get 10 or 11 goals and then its brilliant if the forwards get 20 but if they don't they don't, everybody else has applied themselves. I don't care who scores as long as we win, that is the most important thing.
