Representatives from RNLI Redcar have thanked Boro and our fans for fundraising efforts so far this season.

The Redcar branch of the charity organisation are Boro’s official charity partner for the 2017/18 campaign, and we’re working closely together to support a cause that is very important to coastal life in the region.

A bucket collection in November last year raised £2,100, with over £500 being raised at Christmas with an auction and raffle of hospitality tickets for the Legend's Lounge for the recent Fulham game.

“That’s probably enough to fuel our lifeboats for the rest of the year, which is fantastic,” said Dave Cocks, Lifeboat Operations Manager.

“It has been an exciting partnership for us, because like the football club, the lifeboat station is very much part of the community.

“As well as being able to raise vital funds, working with Middlesbrough can help us to share important messages around sea safety.”

Redcar RNLI has embarked on more than 1,000 rescue missions since 1994, and largely covers the area between Staithes in the south and Hartlepool to the north.
