My favourite UK band of all time legendary Scottish indie-rockers STAPLETON return to Middlesbrough on Sunday 13th July upstairs at Dr Browns. It is the final date of their tour to promote the release of their latest album 'Rest and be Thankful', which was released on Xtra Mile Recordings (Dartz, Frank Turner, Reuben, Jonah Matranga, Million Dead etc) back in May.

The dates are Stapleton's first live shows for over two years ago and having previously toured alongside the likes of Idlewild, Hundred Reasons and The Get Up Kids, it's a rare opportunity to see the band in such an intimate venue. For me they are simply breathtaking.

Since their formation over ten years ago, they've become one of the most influential bands in the UK indie-rock scene with everybody from Get Cape Wear Cape Fly to Biffy Clyro to Tellison citing the Glaswegian four piece as one of their biggest inspirations. You can also add my own band and Teesside's very own Dartz to that list too: We were lucky enough to support Stapleton on our first ever tour and getting to see them play live every night for two weeks was unbelievable. They've been one of my favourite bands since I was 16, so it's going to be amazing to have them back in
Middlesbrough again.

One listen to ‘Rest and Be Thankful’ simply emphasises that when it comes to intelligently crafted, heartfelt indie-rock, there are few better bands than Stapleton.

Support comes from Tellison frontman SH DAVIDSON, playing a rare solo show and also on the bill are
Hartlepool's post-punk heroes ANKLES.
