Aidy Boothroyd’s England Under 21s aim to push for the top of their Euro qualifying group and beat the olde enemy Scotland at the Riverside tonight. Be there and support Dael Fry and young England. Kick Off 7.45pm.

England have won one and drawn one so far in this campaign. Can they kick on this evening?

Injuries have opened the door of opportunity for 20 year old New York City player Jack Harrison. Formerly a Man Utd team mate of Marcus Rashford. The Stoke born youngster has cut his teeth alongside players of the class and experience of Frank Lampard, David Villa and Andrea Pirlo.

Support Dael Fry tonight as he steps up to the grade that his Boro team mate Ben Gibson graced on ten occasions. It is all part of the progression of the young centre half who followed up appearances in England Under 20 World Cup winning squad in the summer with impressive Championship starts for Boro first team.

This is no friendly game tonight. After 2 games into the Euros’s qualifying, England currently are just one point above Scotland and level on points with Group 4 leaders, Ukraine but just behind on goal difference. England v Scotland is always extremely competitive at any level but with the extra spice of European qualification it looks like being a big night by the Tees.

It truly is an opportunity to scout a few stars of the future. In previous England Under 21 games we have seen a few players tackling the first rungs on the international stage. I recall seeing a young full back Ashley Cole and a hard working midfielder David Dunn.  I wonder what happened to them? More recently we saw a player that made a massive impact at full international level just last night, Jesse Lingard light up a cold, wet night of England Under 21 football at the Riverside.

Don’t miss out then and support the club, the town and the area and put on a great display to show everyone just how much Tees pride there is. We ask people to recognise us here for parmos, lemon tops, the Tranny Bridge, Captain Cook and building so much of the world with our steel. But we also can post another reminder tonight of how we are still every inch a hotbed of football. Look at the incredible strength of the Teesside Junior Football Alliance, one of the biggest and best youth networks in the country. We love our football and we love supporting youth football here.

Let’s look forward to being part of a great young international night at the Riverside tonight. Tickets still available. Follow the link for detailed instructions of how to buy your seats.
