If you’re in Year 11, love football and are considering a college course, MFC Foundation’s Futsal and Education Scholarship could offer everything you need and more.

As well as the chance to gain a BTEC in sport, you’ll also be able to represent the club playing for Middlesbrough FC in the Football League Trust Futsal League.

As part of a national initiative through the Football League Trust, MFC Foundation is offering two-year scholarships giving 16-to-18 year olds the chance to find passes on and off the pitch as you learn, train, play and work.

LEARN: Study towards a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport (worth up to three A-Levels).

TRAIN: Undergo regular Futsal coaching to develop technical, tactical and physical ability.

PLAY: Represent Middlesbrough FC in the Football League Trust Futsal League.

WORK: Open the door to university courses and careers in the sports and leisure industries.

Futsal is the world’s fastest-growing indoor sport, showcasing close ball skills, increased touches, quick decision-making, creativity and tactical awareness

The five-a-side game features hockey-sized goals and a heavier, size four ball and is the only form of indoor football officially recognised by UEFA and FIFA.

Great players such as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Boro legend Juninho all honed their amazing skills playing Fustal.

Scouts from National Futsal League teams and the professional club partners often attend these fixtures, allowing opportunities for players to trial with leading Futsal and professional football clubs.

This scholarship programme provides an excellent opportunity to continue your studies in Further Education through this unique and dynamic experience.

Please also be aware that as the course is a Level Three qualification, the entry level requirement for the scholarship is a minimum of four GCSE grades C or above or equivalent.
