The season started not so much with a bang as a … well, you be the judge. One thing is for certain it was a bright sunny evening. Will the sun still be shining down on Southgate and Boro come the end of this season? Or indeed the end of the month?

There were positives and negatives to be drawn from season opener, a solid game where we were not just goal but shot shy.  But I’ve had my chance to go on the record already I thought it would be useful to throw the fmttm communication channels open to other fans.

Last week Lauri Cox gave us her opinion on the season ahead. A difficult thing to predict without any matches played. This week I asked Boro fan David Bates what he made of the first game, Boro’s 0-0 draw v Sheffield United and he kindly sat before the camera to proffer his opinion.

I hope this will be the second of many Fan Cam contributions this season. We’re still finding our feet with this like the team on the pitch you could say. We’re tinkering with the format and what have you but basically the idea is just to let supporters speak their mind about the Boro.
