Ferguson who earlier this year announced that he will not continue managing football after his 70th birthday. Currently aged 66 and turning 67 at the end of this year, this means we have a season or two left with Ferguson at the helm of United.

Ferguson has won more trophies than any manager in the history of English football and many have hailed the Manchester United manager as the best manager in the history of football. Ferguson nears 22 years in charge of United after joining in 1986 he is the second longest serving manager in the history of the club.

Sir Alex Ferguson who was knighted in 1999 has also been named as the FA’s manager of the year 8 times in the last 22 years. Ferguson has played a little over 1220 game winning over 700 matches and losing or drawing a little over 520 games, with a 57% win percentage, the figures speak for themselves.

Manchester United though have a dilemma, the world class manager is set to retire within the next 3 years, and United need to start the search for a manager to replace Ferguson. Jose Murinho seems keen to make a move to United, though with him previously being sat on the opposing bench t Chelsea will United even consider him a possibility or will Roy Keane make a move from the Stadium of Light back to the Theatre of Dreams and manage the club he once helped bring so many trophies to?

Being a United supporter through and through I hope to see the fury of Roy Keane return to manage United, though Solskjaer could also step up from the reserves team to the first team.
