Chelsea 2 - 0 Aston Villa

Chelsea showed why they are currently leading the Premier League table after dominating the match against 4th place surprise Aston Villa. Chelsea had a number of shots on goal, though in the end it was Joe Cole who secured the first goal hammering home a Lampard pass and Anelka sealing the game with a second for Chelsea after Brad Friedel denied two shots but failed to keep the third shot out of the net.

West Ham 1 - 3 Bolton

Bolton gave West Ham something to think about. West Ham were only one point behind Aston Villa, could have moved further up the table with a win, though Bolton who are fighting off the relegation zone seemed to have more fire in the game and although they conceded the one goal took home all three points to move them up to 16th place and leave West Ham to drop places at the top and finish the weekend in 6th place, only one point ahead of United and just ahead of Portsmouth on goal difference.
