I may have missed something but are Vassell, Osadebe and Welch Hayes now unattached.

If so clever move to leave a club with intermittent pay and have no club at all!!

2 of the 3 were thought to be Southend-bound after their mystery 'As one window shuts another door opens' news item on deadline day but nothing since.

Have vassell and osedebe jumped out of the frying pan into the fire. Sol is not happy with the restrictions put on him by a financially struggling club. Both players were in the stand at Blackpool but the owners do not want to invest. Sounds familiar?

They were both either desperate to leave and/ or ill advised. The financial position at Southend was well documented before they jumped ship, so frying pan.......etc
As for MWH, he mostly looked out of his depth in L2 for me, so would not be surprised to since him drift back into non-league, but once again, he’s not exactly been snapped up.

Paddy and Theo obviously had Southend lined up and it actually looks like they've walked into the same kind of XXXXXXsh*w they had here unfortunately and they still haven't signed and could end up with no club all season.

MWH is a weird one. He's not joining Southend and yet to sign anywhere else. You would of thought he would of had a club lined up. Even though if that club is above the Conference, his agent deserves a medal.

Sounds like they've not walked into anything. Shades of Elliott here as they finish up scratching around with no money. Shame we could have used them and all AA is doing is pocketing the salaries he would have paid.

Amar is though paying salaries for 6 new players, a coach and his assistant, various new backroom staff and forking out for training facilities. Perhaps he has come into money!

kicking a ball high against a strong wind does not need statistics - it is basic ballistics - it will stop and then drop vertically or even start going back where it came from.

It was clear on Tuesday that our keeper had been told to pass the ball out to avoid kicking into the wind but Morecombe played a high press to close the backs down.
The result was that the fullback then passed the ball back to the keeper who had a player running in on him.
The result was that he tried to kick the ball long catching the wind every time.

In response to the post above from pauljames I know why Morecambe won. Not only do they have a Sports Scientist but also a strength and Conditioning coach (whose name is Squirrel.) I know it's all nuts isn't it. They also have a head of lotteries and it was certainly one of those on Tuesday.

I see that the Canvey / Basildon / Southend Echo is now stating "Southend United agree terms with ex Macclesfield Town duo".

I wonder if the 'delay' has anything to do with, if some unconfirmed reports are correct, the EFL paying salaries directly?

I seem to recall that the speculation was that the EFL had taken this on from the Club, but that it meant that payments would be made mid-month, so in effect, whilst they had left Macc by the end of last month they had still been paid up to about now.

If this is the case, and as it seems as though Southend were keen on the duo for quite some time, could this explain why nothing has happened until now?
