I agree. I understand why the players wanted to strike out of sheer frustration but it was so misguided and detrimental to their cause. If they had played and won, then that would have put some pressure on Amar as there would have been gate receipts and prize money to pay them. After that, they would have been perfectly entitled to strike.

As soon as Amar managed to get the game on using the youth team, they lost.

And they would probably have beaten Kingston by a higher score than they got against our schoolboys.....who played heroically in my opinion.
And how a bunch of grown men could celebrate as though they had just beaten Chelsea is beyond me.......

Mad Kev.
Agree. This has been a totally unnecessary self inflicted wound which makes an already critical situation even worse for everyone, as you outline.
Had they played and won the club might also have looked that bit better to a potential buyer.
What a terrible, sad day. I just hope we survive somehow and manage to find a suitable buyer, Iím not holding my breath.

The players can't be blamed for striking. Not getting paid, repeatedly, is astonishingly sh1te. They've turned up enough times unpaid ffs.

However, wanting rid of the owner may feel right (& it's a nice simple cause to get behind) but doesn't address the fact that we need someone to write off big wads to keep the illusion that we are a league club alive. Demos, boycots etc won't make that happen.

We played very well but were overpowered by a team that were just physically too strong. Of the 5 loanees Kirby was superb, just never stopped runner and O'Keefe also played well.

Of the youngsters Fregapane was very composed at left back and looked a prospect. Kyobe was skilful and worked really hard in fact all the players did us proud.

Some Macc fans really have no clue. Anyone who wants Amar to hang around or thinks he positively influences the club is deluded

Today was nothing short of embarrassing, I donít care who was on the pitch. Treating fans, sponsors and the worlds greatest cup competition with zero respect and the act alone should be punishable by the FA of stripping Amar of his ownership of MTFC

People talk about Amar stumping up shortfalls in Money for the club. He inputs nothing

Mark my words the club would be ££ better off with the stay away fans back every week spending money, local businessmen who care about the club back and has a chance to be at least sustainable

Amar made all the decisions to blow money himself recklessly, so who else should foot that bill....? Look at the mess he got us into in 2012 and he then went into hiding

The man is the cancer killing MTFC and some still believe heís the saviour

Get a grip

The players were on strike. I can understand that and the reasons. What I found surprising was that all the striking players were in the stand, wearing MTFC kit, watching the game. If you are on strike you should be outside the ground, protesting, not inside supporting your employers actions?!?!

The players were supporting their team mates. They threatened to strike if they werent paid . I have a rule in life - If I threaten to do something I have to carry it out. If they had striked for a league game then we would have had a points deduction

Semantics Crazyface. Your question has to be answered by another, it depends what happens next?
The £36k and any subsequent revenue from the cup that just might have paid a few players, has gone now.
I would have waited until after the cup tie but the players are quite right and entitled to strike and bring matters to a head, the problem is that we are now into the endgame for Amar, which is fine but we need to find a new owner/s who are prepared to fund the debt and all financial commitments or it might just be the endgame for our club.

Dobby, I agree with your post. This sh1tshow has gone on for too long.

The real problem is that it's not in our control (or indeed anyone else's) no matter how much others scream and shout on here about how much he needs to go, ultimately it's up to Amar when he jumps...

No one can force him to sell, he can run the thing into the ground if he wants.

A court could place MTFC into administration, but the next hearing isn't for another 6 weeks (I believe) and then he'll be given at least a month (usually three) to comply with the payment enforcement, after which he could be forced into Administration. SO thats Easter before anyone can actually force him out of business.

He is unlikely to go into Admin voluntarily as then he won't be involved in any buyout talks.

The EFL and FA can't force him to sell either, they can revoke our membership of the league (probably) but they can't make him reliniquish control and let someone else take over.

Ultimately we've backed him into a corner, he may give up and sell to the Sealeys or he may become belligerent and decide he's never letting go

Oil oil.
Yes, I think he is backed into a corner now and, unless he produces something we donít know, he has no option but to sell.
I am more concerned that there is a buyer out there who will meet all the requirements.

Dobby, totally share your concerns about whether there is a buyer out there who meets the requirements.

I imagine Sealey would, but until the EFL do the fit and proper tests we won't know.

I disagree that he has no option but to sell, it's certainly the only sensible option he has (but he's shown many times that common sense and Amar are alient to each to each other). He's just as likely to barricade the doors and let the clun rot until it's unsaveable then just walk away
