To start with I want to make it abundantly clear that I want the poison of Amar Alkhadi out of our beloved football club at the soonest possible opportunity, but.....

Joe Sealey (and wife) have this week emerged as the most serious people to take over the club, however I think we can all say this came completely out of the blue. We'd never heard of them, there'd not been any rumours and whilst it has emerged they make something of a last minute effort to take control of Bury, they were looking to do that at the price of just £1.

Now I understand why they offered that, in the view to work on paying the club's creditors but openly admitted the club would continue to run at a loss for 3 more years. Do people think this would their approach for Macc? If so, I highly doubt Amar would give any consideration to giving up the club for just a token payment.

In his recent Instagram posts Joe Sealey has said he would come in and wipe all debts and immediately double the playing budget, purchase the lease of the Moss back for c.£250k and then have a massive focus on building an academy to develop young lads to play in the first team but with a view to ultimately sell them which would help keep the club self sufficient. This sounds great and something I'm sure all of us would be 100% behind, myself included.

However, and I dont claim to be a football finance expert, but from some simple googling on "Joe Sealey Financial Position" it doesn't appear to me where the amount of money needed for this drastic turnaround would come from. It looks like their luxury gym business is very successful but doesn't seem to be much in terms of cash there with turnover around the £150k mark from what I can see (though someone please correct me if I'm wrong). Would they need to take on some debt themselves to make this happen? And would they then just effectively be owed this from the club as Amar currently is. The Sealeys could of course have a private stash of money which they would be using but we'll never have a view on this.

My question is, Is Joe Sealey truly able to do what he says? Do we have to blindly trust him because things are so bad with Amar, or should we still be looking to encourage other interested parties to the table.

I really dont know the answer. All I know is we need the scum bag gone, but need to make sure that whoever does take over is here for the right reasons, but how do we make sure of that?

There are no guarantees that what might come next will be any better in the long term, but it's hard to see, at present, how things could be any worse!

I can't see a queue of 'other interested parties', I'm afraid.

And will it be just the Sealey's or will there be others with some links to Macc on the board?
Otherwise we are potentially back in the same situation when the money runs out.

We know more about Sealeyís possible source of wealth than we do about Amarís, at this stage.

I imagine there is a long way to go before any deal is complete. We know that Amar has come very close to selling in the past, only for deals to fall through or him to pull out.

Sealey sold a very successful sports management company for a substantial amount of money a few years back. Donít worry about the wealth

I wonder if Joe is aware that there was a 150 year lease from 1952 at a rent of £1 per year in favour of the council which would have merged into the freehold when then the council purchased it in 2013/14.

Any re-purchase of the freehold would require the regranting of this lease.
