There will be some furious wrangling.

AA will have a bottom line figure, below which he is not prepared to sell. No doubt Joe will also have an upper limit beyond which he is not prepared to go.

Trying to think about it objectively, I would say this is probably going to represent the best offer Amar is likely to get, as there really isn't a massive queue of bidders waiting in the wings.

Just can't see any point in him clinging on and waiting for things to get even worse, if he has the chance to bale (not Gareth!) and cut his losses.

If this goes through, I give my word that at our first home game under the Sealeys, I will buy a shirt, a pie, a programme, a 5050 and everything in between - as well as dragging down as many friends and family as possible to welcome in this new era for little Macclesfield Town FC

Starting to get very excited about this [:D] If it is true that our possible new owners have a meeting with the club tonight, I fully expect an agreement to be made with ALL staff about unpaid wages, and everything should be done to get the match on Sunday played

He makes all the right noises, I just fear the resistance that will no doubt come from AA over a deal

Below is an extract from a press article around the time Sealey was showing an interest in Bury. If this was his attitude to a potential deal with Bury, perhaps he will have a similar approach to a MTFC deal? Can't see Amar selling for a pound but there are some other interesting points in there.
Full article at-
www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7379173/Football-news-Bury-wanted-son-ex-Man-Utd-goalkeeper-Les-Sealey.html

Sealey, who owns gyms in Cheshire and used to work as a football agent, said he held meetings with Dale (Bury owner) over possibly buying Bury six weeks ago.
But Dale's demands did not tally with the financial situation behind the scenes.
'I met with Bury six or seven weeks ago. I met the current owner. I went through the financials.
'What was being discussed at the time was he wanted a million-plus for the club. When we looked at it, I thought this is going to administration and is worth nothing.
'It needs an investment to save it. The money he wanted was needed to pay the debtors.
'I think we would look at it again. It's a sad situation where a club gets promoted and is going to go out of business.'
Asked what would be needed to bring him back to the table, Sealey said: 'It would have to be handed over to us. My partner is my wife, she has recruitment businesses and I own gyms and I can afford Bury.'
And he asserted: 'I could clear the debt over an agreed time. I have been brought up in football. We would run it as a business.
'We wouldn't be happy to lose £5m a year. At the start we'd have to lose for three years but after that we would need to self sustain. My strategy would be the academy, produce young players to play and sell.
'We would 100 per cent talk to him going forward, just not in the current circumstances.'
Dale bought Bury for just £1 last December — the same figure Sealey wants to spend — and has taken the 134-year-old club to the brink of extinction.
Sealey does not believe Dale is being realistic in his demands. He suggested: 'I think he's looking for an impossible deal — a white knight sort of deal.
'It's a good club for us because we're local. I live in Cheshire. It's a local club that we can run. I don't think these people in Monaco or Dubai will come and buy it - and that's what he's looking for.
'If it was going to come, it would have come before now. Is the club going to be there after Friday?'
He believes his history with football would set him up as the ideal man to run Bury. He pointed out: 'I've spent my whole life working in and around football. My dad had a 20 year career.
'I understand the inner workings of that business. We wouldn't be the type to throw money at it. There would have to be a plan.'
Dale has previously refuted suggestions Bury were paying players £10,000 a week in League Two.
But Sealey stated: 'There was a player on £8,000 a week. That's the type of stuff we wouldn't do.
'We want to budget it and produce young players. Go to the big clubs and give us the players you aren't sure about. We could sort of be a local feeder club to Manchester City, United. If you look at Brooks at Bournemouth... why didn't Bury have a say?
'If people want to email me from the club or fans groups, I'm really happy to talk to them.'

A small chink of light at the end of a long tunnel, hope.

Sealy sounds level headed but this is a similar situation to Bury where he would want to do little more than take on the debt. The key question is,....now he is backed into a corner, what would Amar accept?

Blues-bro.
Well he is backed into a corner as it seems the business will cease functioning unless he produces funds out of nowhere. I’m no lawyer but I would imagine that administration would follow which would take matters out of his hands anyway? I’m not sure, can anyone help out on the legalities?

Dale didn't take Sealey's offers seriously. Perhaps he didn't feel backed into a corner either?
He was clearly either deluded or reckless. Does Amar fall into the same category or does he have a cunning plan (only known to himself)?

It does sound expensive, but it probably just about covers what Amar has put in but hasn't yet taken out over the 12 or so years he has been in charge.

I'm more concerned that Sealey would offer £3m (never mind £5m) anyone can see it's not worth half that so we have to question how long their cash will last if they throw it around like confetti

I want this to stop, I want to go back to just being annoyed at the fact we can't shoot, we don't know which way the goal is and we enjoy passing to the opposition.

All this stuff about ownership is not fun, at least when we play rubbish you can go down the pub, have a beer and be happy that next week we can start over at 0-0 again.

I want him to sell uup and f'off but honestly I just can't see him doing it; I think he's written off the investment and just wants to see it fail (sort of like the kid who breaks his toy when his mum says he has to let his little brother play with it - an if I can't have it no-one can reaction)

Mr Joe Sealey (of the Sealey's fame) has stated that the Sealey's (sic) intend to clear the debts and double the playing budget for the next three years.

If the playing budget is already in the region of £1 million then the Sealey's (sic) three year plan could cost in the region of £3 million to £5 million. I cannot see anyone paying Amar or Ramy anything like that amount for what is clearly an insolvent business.

I can't see the value in repurchasing the freehold of the ground at this point, Unless The Sealeys were intending to secure debt against it? Rightly or wrongly I always saw the ground being in the hands of the local authority as a good thing as it would reduce the possibility of it being seen as an asset to strip?

I agree Chelmo. The biggest problem Bury fans have in forming a phoenix club is that Gigg Lane is now in the hands, more or less, of the people who lent money to the old club. Whereas Chester fans were able to get their phoenix club up and running at the Deva Stadium owned by the local council.

Sealey unveils Tooting & Mitcham masterplan
By Omar Oakes

Tooting & Mitcham’s new chief executive Joe Sealey has unveiled a seven-year plan to follow AFC Wimbledon into the football league, writes Omar Oakes.

Sealey, son of the late ex-Luton and West Ham United goalkeeper Les Sealey, was appointed last week, and met fans for the first time after Saturday’s 3-0 home defeat to Hendon at Imperial Fields.

The former West Ham footballer is part of a consortium of investors who have acquired shares in the club, including close friend Ronny Johnson, a construction firm owner who came close to taking over Welling United.

“This club could be so fantastic,” said Sealey.

“We should be in League Two. You’ve got everything you need to be at that level. Once the business structure is sorted out, that should lead us into League Two.”

Sealey explained the first step would be to replace the football pitch at the end of the season, while stabilising the club’s finances.

New boss Kenny Brown, appointed on Tuesday, has been charged with getting promoted to the Blue Square South, before aiming to be in the Blue Square Premier by 2015 and League Two three years later.

Steve Adkins remains the majority shareholder of the football club, which is also part-owned by estate agent Steve Ludlow, but Mr Sealey insisted he was now in charge.

Bill Hill has also been appointed as the football club chairman.

Sealey runs a sports agency that represents footballers, but has insisted he will not be looking to influence the make- up of the playing staff.

He said: “ None of my players will ever play at this club. They’re all of a much higher standard. I’ve got no interest in that.

“I want to run this as a proper football club.”

By NON-LEAGUE NEWS April 19 2012

Tooting & Mitcham United’s turbulent season continued this week with Joe Sealey and Ronnie Johnson understood to have left the relegated club.

The pair came in as chief executive and director in December as part of a consortium of investors and spoke of a seven-year master plan to get the Terrors into the Football League.

But, four months later, the club has been relegated to the Ryman League Division One South, despite a change in manager and a complete overhaul of the playing squad.

Sealey and Johnson have not been to a game for more than two weeks and sources inside the club are preparing for life without them.

Bill Hill, chairman of the club and its members’ club, did not confirm any departure but said it would not put the club in danger financially.

“I am unsure they have gone but I think they have, I have not been getting any replies,” he said.

“The club is in a good financial position and there are plans being made for next season.”

Sealey and Johnson’s time at Tooting has been marred by rumours of meddling in team selection which led to former manager Mark Beard’s departure after he was told to get rid of long-serving players such as Jay Lovett, Jamie Byatt and Jason Henry as well as assistant Geoff Pitcher.

Other players came and went, including former Leeds United striker Leon Constantine who lasted one game.

Senior players were told earlier this month they were having their wages docked to £50 a week and many left to be replaced by players from the club’s academy.

The crisis culminated on Tuesday as striker Charlie Stimson had to play in goal against Wealdstone with Darren Behcet having left and young replacement Kieran Campbell, who helped Tooting to a 1-1 draw against Margate on Saturday, injured.

Stimson could not prevent a 6-0 defeat which took the Terrors’ league goals conceded tally past the 100 mark.

It was their tenth defeat in eleven games, leaving manager Kenny Brown’s future in doubt ahead of Saturday’s penultimate game at Hendon.

Any change at the top is a gamble, but its a gamble I'm willing to take. Even if JS doesn't deliver on most of his intentions, paying the wages on time alone would make him a better owner. The biggest risk is to leave things as they are.

And back to Amar’s mindset, dealing with Middle Eastern businesses is not always straightforward. In my experience, there is a lot of ‘face-saving’, pride, and reluctance to part with cash to overcome, even when you have gone over and above your contract to do the work
My last stint in Doha meant spending a whole day going to different departments within the organisation to get page after page of documents of authorisation ‘stamped’ so I could then go to ‘Finance’ to get my money.
Even then I had to stand over them while my taxi was waiting outside to take me to the airport, to make sure they paid into my bank account there and then, and these people are worth £billions. ‘Hard up’ is driving an Audi rather than a Ferrari.
They tend not to do things the way we do. It’s an impenetrable system and who knows where Amar is within it. It never surprised me to hear there was a ‘misunderstanding with his bank’ regarding unpaid bills, and of course, that ‘brexit’ comment.....the £ has collapsed 20% since 2016. Tight funds here linked to Arab banks there (Iraq) will be worth even less now. It’s a chilly old world out there......

Jeff fully agree as I worked for Iranians for 6 years and you have to get into their heads big time and understand their culture of brinkmanship and disregard for authority.
